Welcome vets and virgins all. As you may have noticed I'm Chris In London, but I 'race' (if you can call it that) as Carlos Fandango (see here for the reason: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqqZ28m8uCo).

Session Date(s)
As you can see below, the session has to be completed by Sunday 20th Jan, which gives us two weekends or possibly a weekday evening. The races can be spread across more than one meeting, but obviously it's easier getting them all done in one session.

As a starter; 2 drunk 2 drive is unavailable from 18-25th Jan. Also, my router fried on Saturday and my replacement won't turn up for 5-7 working days, so I think the coming weekend is out for me. This group is all UK except for Charlie Brown who is conveniently West Coast Northern America judging by the UTC differential. Please respond with your availability as soon as possible, then we can start negotiating when to meet. From experience, weekends are better and European evenings go well with N. American mornings.

Host
Noted that Brook, 2 drunk and Charlie Brown can host six or more, and djp can host four if needed. Could I have a volunteer and a backup please?

Session at a glance:

Deadline
Monday Jan 20th

Proposed race time: Sunday 20th Jan, 1900hrs UTC

Participants (with UTC differentials)
Brook (+1)
djpimley (+1)
Carlos Fandango (+1) - UNAVAILABLE 7-14 JAN (approx)
2 drunk 2 drive (+1) - UNAVAILABLE 18-25 JAN
Charlie T. Brown (-8)
Joe Chip (+1)

Host: 2 Drunk 2 Drive, with Brook as backup

Please respond with your availability as soon as possible

Weekends are very preferential to weekdays for me. Weekends I can make myself available any time, given notice. My hosting capability should be considered untested: I've switched providers since the last time I hosted a game, however I have switched to a higher bandwidth service so I should theoretically be capable of hosting 4 at least. By all means put me down as backup, but be warned you may need a backup for me!

My plug-ins: Radical SR8 Supersport, Pagani Zonda F, Jaguar XJ220/C, Bugatti Type 35C, Jeep, Trabant, Mack Cruiseliner, USCM M557 APC, Blue Bird, Brooklands, Route 66.

hello to all Group 6 members,
first of all, to make things clear, I have to hand in a very important essay at jan 25 and due to the fact that i am a rather lazy person, i haven't done much for it yet. This is why I wrote that i am unavaible between jan 18 and 25, so that I keep myself some free time. But I think I should find some time for this session, best time would be weekend evenings (sunday would be my favorite one). So my proposal for the Session would be sunday, 20th january european evening.

Sounds fine by me!

I'm usually available during the weekends, but try to avoid night racing. A weekday can work also, between 17:00 and 20:00 UTC (that's 5:00pm and 8:00pm) is manageable.

I think Charlie will be the key factor here, I hope he responds soon!

With the possibilty to host 8 I like to forward 2 drunk as host, and myself as backup.

It would be an honor for me to be the host. I must warn you that my router sometimes feels like resisting his dutys for an hour or so. Though this is just a rare problem, with my luck I'm sure that it will just happen when I want to start hotsing. So it's good to have Brook as backuphost if my connection fails. I will also try to get another GB RAM for my computer (I am currently only running with 1GB) till the Session day, so that my computer will work even better wink.gif

Seconded and passed - First post updated accordingly.

As with the others, the 20th suits me. Getting my head around time zones, I think us UK people are actually in UTC at present (last season we were still in summertime), whereas 2 Drunk is (correctly) in UTC+1. If I'm correct then I'm free from 1900 UTC onwards most evenings.

Hi guys, happy and proud to be a member of this group.
Sundays are nice for racing.
Saturday is good too.
During the week i'm available after 7 P.M. except monday and wednesday after 11 P.M.
Night times might be good also sometimes.

Request :
on some graphic cards, like mine, moonlight or sunset really slowdown the machine and make me
"downsetup" a lot my video parameters. If its possible, the more daylight we have will be cool.

I dont think i can reliably host cause of my router type (or setup) but i have a good adsl line.

I wish an happy new year to everybody.

Joe

Sounds like a problem indeed. I personaly think that it should be no problem to keep the weather sunny as long as the given weather conditions don't affect the grip. If the given weather is rain or snow (like in Session 3) I think we can't change it…
But that's just what I think and I would like to hear what the rest of this group thinks about this problem wink.gif

Losing sunset, I don't mind. I think it would be a real shame to lose moonlight because it significantly alters the driving experience (and the challenge). If it causes you chronic problems then I would consider forgoing it but if it's just a matter of you having to lower your graphics preferences for better performance... well, join the club. rolleyes.gif

We'll do a 2 lap shakedown before every race to check for lag and frame trouble (among other things). We'll decide there and then what to do with the weather.

Yup; although there is a Charlie Brown and a Charlie T. Brown on the member's list which confused me until I looked at the RRL website. I'll send another and chivvy him along...

Okay - all signed in, and race time set for 20th Jan - commencing at 1900hrs UTC, which will be 1900hrs UK time, 2000hrs Munich time, and 1000hrs Charlie Brown time. The previous season's sessions tended to take about 2 hours or so, factoring in people turning up a little late and the need to see a re-run or two, so make sure you have a fair amount of free time handy. If 1900hrs UTC suddenly becomes impossible for anyone, let the rest of us know via this topic, and we'll attempt to accommodate you.

See you at the races... biggrin.gif

Naturally, I trust that none of my vehicles are going to be used in a gathering with CTB being present.
Should you be confused about the plugins in question, I just added a list to my signature for your convenience.

Your extensive use of the wink ( wink.gif ) in your posts (ever thought of putting it in your avatar? tongue.gif ), has rendered it meaningless for me.

I must therefore ask if you are serious about this or not?

If you are, please let me remind you that this tournament is run under rules that are there to prevent any misbehaviour. I even thightened those rules because of the points you (and others) made, back in November.

You *can* make some noise...

But I do find myself in a somewhat awkward position: sad.gif
- On the one hand, I would like to respect you...
- On the other hand, I can't do that without turning this tournament upside down...

If I consider you a demonstrator (picketer?) and switch my ignore flag on, can you still live with me after this tournament is over? blink.gif

Having read all the posts but having had no experience racing the offending simmer, I'm afraid I can only give him the benefit of the doubt for now. I would say that the arena of a season of RRL should be the litmus test for a racer's behaviour - if he misbehaves here then every simmer will know about it and act accordingly in future. And being shunned by the community as a whole would be a far more forceful punishment than pulling the plug on your plug-ins, Thomm.

I hope you see it this way, and don't disallow your cars to be used.

A little extreme, maybe! If I'm remembering your nationality right, consider us to be Armenius to his Varus, and Small Rally Track will be the Teutoburg Forest...
