Getcha motor runnin'.
This topic is for organizing Group 3's races for Session 1 of this winter's RRL, so let's get started. In this oh-so-glamorous group we have:
So let's start by listing our availability; I'll also start by proposing a time period in which to start running: Saturday or Sunday between 15 and 20 UTC. I'd have to miss out on working on my school's real-life race cars to be there before 17, but it's a weekly thing, so I can make the sacrifice if it's more convenient for everybody I'm available after 20 UTC Thursday, 21-24 on Friday, 15-25 on Saturday and Sunday, and next week I'm free Monday after 16, Tuesday after 19, etc. etc. etc. This weekend or next weekend is probably when we'll be holding it anyway, with any luck This post has been edited by C.P. We're in a dockside maintainance period 4 hours away from home, this base has no common access points for teh net, and on top of this I'm typing this from a PC.
So, the good news: Work usually ends at 5-6 (Pacific time though, so about 8-9 est), I might be able to find some wireless at the station down the way, or at an internet cafe if neccecary. Unfortunetly we won't be getting this coming weekend off (I don't think) so that's out the window. If it's nececcary for me to miss this session so that everyone else can play, go for it, I'm used to missing these things -------------------- "Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - <‹◊›> SBS |

QUOTE(THX1138 @ Jan 10 2008, 10:07 AM) From the looks of things, could we suggest a time on Saturday the 12th or Sunday, the 13th? We certainly can. We have the luxury of all being from somewhere in the U.S., so how about a nice, reasonable time such as UTC 21 on Saturday? That's 4 PM EST, 3 PM Central, 2PM Mountain and 1 PM West Coast. EDIT: Ah, wait, Renesis isn't available this weekend... So is everybody available tomorrow (technically Saturday) at say UTC 1? That's 8 PM tomorrow for Eastern, 7 Central, 6 Mountain and 5 West Coast. Ren says that's about when he gets off from work. Ren? Do you need more time to try to find wireless access? We could move it up to UTC 2 if it were easier. This post has been edited by C.P. Frost: Jan 10 2008, 12:40 PM |

Renesis, I can imagine that your occupation can make it difficult to predict when you are underway. Is it possible that you inform me by pm once you do know more? -------------------- |

To clarify: 1 UTC Saturday means 8 PM Friday EST, since at that point the UK at UTC 0 is in Saturday. Hence, the time I suggested so that Ren could make it was 8 PM tomorrow, Friday, or 7 Central, 6 Mountain, 5 West Coast. As mentioned, we might also move it up to 2 UTC, one hour later, in case our skipper needs to find access to teh internets.

Erm, FWIW, I may try to split the session in half - part tonight, part tomorrow - so that Ren will miss two and andreu will miss two. In any case, we will meet tonight at 2 UTC (again, 8 EST, 7 Central, 6 Mountain and 5 West Coast) and decide what to do. Hopefully MacademiaNut will log on and see the time so he'll be there for the race.

Would 10-11 AM Mountain (17 UTC) work alright? Except for Renesis, this seems like a feasible time for the group to meet.
