Ok, here's who's in my group:
Quazaky (Quazaky olio) 2 drunk 2 drive Adam-0 (myself) MacGreg Chris W (chriskiFR) THX-1138 My internet connection was not as stable as I would have liked last time, and I was forced to drop out half way, so I will be appointing a second in command who will be in charge of getting redlogs in case I have to drop out or the connection gets bad. I will accept the first volunteer, but if nobody volunteers, I'll be selecting one of you to do it. Also, my internet is not "fast enough" to host the group, so I'll need somebody to host for this group. Also, it appears that MacGreg, Chris W, and THX-1138 didn't make it to the first session. Make sure you reply so that I know if you're really in this or not. This is my first RRL season, and my first time hosting a group. If I have left anything out, make sure and tell me and I will add it to this post. I'll be PMing you shortly. The deadline is Monday, February 4, 08:00 UTC. So, what times can we do this? I'm GMT-8, and I can only do it Friday nights to Sunday nights, excluding Sunday morning. This post has been edited by Rebelious: Jan 21 2008, 05:28 PM -------------------- |

hi @ all:
I'm 2 drunk and when i cross the finish line the race will be over (means that tend be be on the last place).I'm happy to see that we have already a topic for the next session. If you need someone who's able to host, I could do this, my computer and my internet connection are fast enough to host 8 persons without any bigger problems. Nvertheless, please try to find a second host, just in case that my router will resist his work (which he sometimes does). To answer the question about the racing time: I have free time on most evenigs (I'm UTC + 1, so my evening is early afternoon on the east coast) but due to the time lag, I think we should make this on weekends, because not everybody has time during the week Please post your preferred time for the race… -------------------- ----------

Hi folks, I am in, ready to race (looking forward to find a way to get my brandnew weel working...). Anyway, I used to be able to host 6 racers, have to check, so in case we are not more, I can make the back up host. Race time: Friday or Saturday evening should be ok. I am GM +1, usually Saturday midday/afternoon for the States makes something like evening/night for Europe, that should work. Choose a weekend, for now I can make plan, so start proposing. |

Ok, this isn't good, I only have two responses, and we can't exactly have a session with three people. Well, we've got to start or we'll never get the races in. Since you are both UTC +1 and I am UTC -8, that means I'll be playing earlier and you'll be playing later, relatively speaking. Does saturday the 24th (THIS SATURDAY) at, say, UTC 1700 work for you both? If that doesn't work, same time next week?

Sorry to invade your topic, but it might help you to know that it was hard to get chris to reply on the forum the previous session and then he failed to show up for the races. No explanation yet. Quaz is often not the fastest in using the forum either.
I suggest using a PM to both of them so that if they do venture to the forum they should at least check in on this thread. -------------------- Wikispace Tutorial: Beginners Guide to RL Track Making

Thank you for the help. I sent a PM to all of the members of my group with a link here, so if they followed Brook's instructions about setting the PMs to "notify by email" or whatever, they have no excuse for not knowing. Meantime, we'll be planning without them, and if they can't show, too bad. -------------------- |

QUOTE(Rebelious @ Jan 25 2008, 03:46 PM) ...and we wouldn't get as many points as we otherwise would! WRONG! If you read through the RRL information page, it says there "b. The number of drivers that the organisation intends to have in a group." So the first place will get his 8 points anyway and if the other ones don't show up, then I will manage to get 4 points. if you think about it, the other method would be rather unfair, because we would loose points just because someone is not appearing. Then we would stick in the last group and never get the chance to come to higher groups. By the way, have you already PM'd the missing racers? If Macgreg is okay with the racing time and none of the lost ones will report in, then we can start the race today. Please don't forget to send everyone a password via PM. You can also chat with me during the race on the TS server… -------------------- ----------

Unfortunately, I will be unable to be here today, something came up in my family. So... Saturday won't work out for me next week until late evening, which would be early morning for you, so maybe Sunday, UTC 1830? (that's tomorrow)

Actually, we can't race - I didn't notice he said Friday or Saturday only. So, we'll be bumping back again to... wait, I can't do it on next Saturday until like 10 PM or later for you guys, so that won't work... and Fridays, assuming that I get home from school and get started right away (4 local time) that would be 1 AM Saturday for you guys. Not fun. I'm going to talk to Brook and ask for an extension, unless one of you can find a better way...

I just came up with an idea: why don't we just turn the problem (the time differnce and the night) to our solution. If we start the race at 7 a.m. UTC on saturday, this will be 11 p.m on friday for you and 8 a.m. for me and MacGreg. This sounds a bit weird, but I think it could work. What does the rest of the group think about it?

So, my possibilities are Friday and Saturday nights. European night. That means Friday or Saturday afternoon in the States. |

ok, then we'll try to make it in the evening. For my part, we could even start the race at 1 a.m. european time on friday or saturday (it would be very late, but I don't have a problem to stay awake that long). Macgreg, when do you usually go to bed on friday & saturday (keep in mind that the session may take up to 2 hours!) ?

I think you misread each others suggestions, I'm pretty confident these two can work (it are also your only two shots).

You can forget THX and Chriski, they haven't logged in to the boards since the 18th. I consider them withdrawn. -------------------- |

So, I understand, there are 2 options beeing discussed:
1. Friday Pacific afternoon, means Saturday European morning. 2. Saturday Pacific late midday, means something like European midnight I personally do perfer the second option, for personal, psychobiological reasons In any case we are talking about this weekend, the 2nd or 3rd of February, right? |

(calculatin 9 hours difference). So folks, choose, let me know, so I can arrange my plans here. |

I can't be starting this as late as 11:00, so would you guys mind doing it at 7:00 AM your time? Because I can't be playing at midnight. Maybe we could do something like 10:30p/7:30a (my time/yours)? Welcome aboard, Quaz.
