Welcome to the final session of the Winter Redline Racing League 2007!

We will have some epic races: we will start off with 5 laps in the rain in Spa with GT-Class cars (RGT10/20).
The last race of this season will be a midnight race on Black Forest, using C10 cars.

Members of our group are:

Fuglz (The New Bird)
MaxDamage
djpimley
Tomte
amped
Pax-raider
GeneralAntilles

From what I can see on the RRL standings page, only amped and I are possible hosts for our 7 players session. So I propose myself as the primary host and amped as the secondary host.

It looks like that weekends are the way to go, until the end of March we have three of them. RRL 2007 will be over on 31 March at 08:00 UTC.

I will not be available the next three days, but it's unlikely that we want to race already now. I will also propose to split the races, even if this appears to lull the excitement. So, you know the drill! smile.gif

PS: I will keep a spot open in case Brook decides to rejoin the RRL. unsure.gif

I tend to agree. I know it would be nice to practice feverishly for each race individually, but my experience is that we have a hard enough time finding one slot for the whole group.

Edit: I can host 7 fine, did so last session, so I can be another backup.

I can't do the upcoming week-end, but the next week-ends should be fine, any time between 0600 and 2400 UTC.

Both races together please - a much more satisfying experience that way.

Most hours on weekends are good, given warning. Let's say 08:00 UTC Saturday to 20:00 UTC Sunday. Weekdays are impossible.

Ok, ok. We will run the races back to back. It was just an offer in case somebody couldn't make it.
But I tend to disagree that everything will be over in just one hour. It never is. smile.gif

Sorry for being not very communicative over the last days.

Despite GA not commenting (yet), I'll just propose a time:
Sunday 30th, 18:00 UTC

this will give us a two hour window before DJ runs out of time.

off to inform the General

Fine with me. Actually 20:00 was the latest time I was willing to start a session, I'm happy to finish as late as 22:00.

Just finished hammering out my schedule for the next few weeks (coming off the spring break afterglow dry.gif).

Yeah, that should be fine.

Update:

The HD of my Mac appears to have packed up, so I'm just checking it. I might need to get a new HD and reinstall everything. I hope that Time Machine can do it's trick.
In case I'm not up and running by tomorrow evening, I will let you know. Backup hosts, prepare.

Apologies for the inconvenience...

Thanks, it helped! smile.gif I'm.. well my Mac is up and running again. The HD seems still ok. I guess it was just a corrupted file system. Time Machine did it's trickery well enough after some convincing.

Please check your PM's regarding the password.

For our European racers, please note that we have now summer time. This means in local time

- amped, Pax-raider, GA: 16:00 (4pm)
- DJ: 21:00 (9pm)
- MaxDamage, Fuglz & Tomte: 22:00 (10pm)

(I hope I got that right)

CU on the track! smile.gif

Whelp, I hate to do this again (and at such late notice), but I'm gonna have to withdraw from the season. sad.gif I really haven't had the time or energy to put into practicing that this deserves, and it's been particularly bad for this session (Redline hasn't even been opened for 3 weeks).

Some things have also come up (a couple of group projects that are taking way more time than they should have—headed to the lab to try and finish one up in a few hours) this weekend that prevent me from being able to participate today.

My apologies for the inconvenience, and I hope you guys enjoy your races, but I fear I'd probably be more of a moving roadblock than anything at this point. tongue.gif

Thanks to all for a great season (what I managed to attend)! Hopefully I'll catch you on the track whenever things clear up some in the next month or two.

GA, it might not be your usual style to be a moving road block, but if you can manage it time wise, it would be great to have you there. We could battle for last place! smile.gif

yeah GA, that's a shame. If it makes any difference I've driven Spa in rain for a total of about 30 minutes to try and find which car would work, and thats it. No practicing at all at Black Forest moonlight, although I did do a couple of MP races there in daylight 10 days ago. So we could just fight it out for last... tongue.gif

2. Tomte, Corvette C6.R
3. MaxDamage, Ultima GTR
4. Pax-raider,Corvette C6.R
5. djpimley, Corvette C6.R
6. Fuglz, Corvette C6.R

Race 14, Black Forest, Moonlight

1. MaxDamage, AC Cobra
2. djpimley, AC Cobra
3. amped, Corvette Z06
4. Pax-raider, AC Cobra
5. Fuglz, AC Cobra
6. Tomte, Corvette Z06

The redlogs can be found here

I must say that the Spa race was one of the best I ever had, it was quite tense and stressing. I was leading most of the race, trying to stay calm, to think ahead, keep the concentration. Second to last lap I lost it somehow. Max, who was all the time right behind me, passed me and was leading into the last lap. Half way through, he got into trouble. When I tried to pass him, we collided and amped sailed past. Being in second position after the collision, I tried to catch up. amped went a bit of the track so I thought I could still get him, but went into the sand myself. amped kept his cool and won. Great job!
