SeeFlat's Invitational Games were a huge success. For me, a major part of that success was the long format of the races. I raised the idea a while ago for setting up a system for organizing regular races, with results being tallied as we go, and people's positions updated after each race. There seemed to be interest, but the scoring system and updating of results seemed to be the biggest problem.

I think I may have found a free online way to do this. My vision is to run these races at weekends, evenings, whenever people want to get together; BUT, the race (track and car/car class) would be announced several days in advance to give people who want to practice some time to get ready, and to try to ensure a decent number of drivers in each race. So it might work well to have only one or two "official" races per week.

So, is anybody interested in testing this idea out?

There's no time like the present, so I suggest we start off immediately with a pilot 25 lap xTCC race at Lime Rock tonight at 10pm Eastern, which I believe is 0200 UTC. I will host, and I think I can host 10 safely now that my up speed has been upgraded. First come first served, and we will start racing no later than 0215.

If there is interest and the online scoring system seems manageable, we can figure out more of the details on how to organize this on a regular basis (such as how to reduce/avoid conflict with the RRL).
