I have a several year old camcorder, Canon model ZR20. Its been pretty good over the years, but just yesterday, I was rewinding a tape after playing it back (and it worked), when suddenly a big red message "Eject the Casette" comes up, and I did so (tentatively, incase it tried to eat my tape). This message comes up every time I try to play, record, ff or rw. Also, the camcorder keeps not retracting the tape when I close the door, and I think these problems are related.
Anyone have any experience in such a repair and can tell me how much it will probably cost? Canon has a blanket $150 fee for repairs, Im trying to decide if its worth it. Presumably, if it is actually that much damage, they will try to charge more, but still, these other camcorder repair sites look kind of... untrustworthy. Can anyone recommend a good site for me? Thanks. -------------------- I find it horribly ironic that days after I accidentally destroy my teeny-type eulogy for the void, the void is destroyed by the IPB update.
