Ohhhh. Have you asked your friend (if you still are in contact)? How long ago?

iron helix? i know you played a remote probe in that game, and there was some security robot that would blow you up if it caught you. further, it had an elevator and was pseudo-3d (like myst- you went from place to place by clicking arrow buttons, which moved you to the next fixed point in that direction)

[edit]the back of the box describes it as "the most stunning 3-d action adventure game ever created," and says that your mission is to stop a ship carrying a doomsday virus. further, you apparently needed to collect dna from the ship's high-ranking officers in order to gain access to certain areas and computers.[/edit]

Yep, I'm pretty sure he's talking about Iron Helix.

Here's another one... anyone remember Gold Digger? Know where I can get it?
Croikle
Yes. Some quick Googling produced the demo; I don't know if there's a freeware/abandonware version out there anywhere.

Spacestation Pheta was fun, too.

edit: Actually, they seem to still be around, to some extent, at http://www.tandtsoftware.com/. They'd probably be happy to take your money, even.
