Snapz Pro X is a fantastic utility in concept. However, in action it frequently seizes up and won't work properly.

For example, just now I tried hitting CONTROL-SHIFT-3 and, instead of the normal control panel, I get a tiny crosshair symbol. If I click the mouse, Snapz Pro X takes a still screenshot. Why isn't it giving me the option of making a MOVIE? (I can make a still screen capture with Grab, which is free. I bought this software to capture video from the screen.)

I'm running 10.3.9 on a G4 with a dual processor. Classic is not running now, so that's not a conflict.

If this software is still in beta, how come we're paying $60 a shot for it????

There should be a choice in the Preferences to ALWAYS start with a movie instead of a screen shot.

Does the crosshair look like this? Click to view attachment

If so, Snapz isn't even running. Relaunch the program and try again; if Snapz is running and you press your hotkeys, you will get to the Snapz palette. You won't jump directly to one of the capture modes.

The current version of Snapz does not have the option to go directly to any of the functions.

I'm thinking Kepi is on the right track, and SP X isn't running.

If the palette doesn't come on screen, then it's not running.

As for the option to go straight to the movie tool, invoke SP X and then press the 4 key. It only adds one more key stroke.
