Hi all,
Hope someone can help - I have been monitoring threads on this forum - and from what I understand, although the movie capture does not seem to work using Snapz on Intel - basic screen grabs are fine... is this correct?
Unfortunately I can not get it to work at all on my Macbook - it never has. I was running 10.4.6 when my Macbook arrived, and I used the migration tool as part of the Macbook setup to copy all my stuff from my old Powerbook to my new Macbook. Everything worked, until I tried Snapz!
When I start it, I see the process come and go, and console reports a crash, referring me to the Snapz Crash Log. I have attached this to this post.
Obviously I have tried various un-installs etc without success.
Is there anything obvious in the log which might point to what is causing Snapz to crash on me?
I just want to take screenshots and use the thumbnail generator - thats all!
Cheers,
Jeff

Hello-
We're looking into reports of similar problems on the new MacBooks and Minis.
The developer is aware of the issue, and we do have quite a few crashlogs to look through.
All I can say now is please be patient, it's on the To Do list for the next update.

My new MacBook is arriving in a couple of days so I can see if this happens to me or not.

Thanks guys,
I really hope this update is soon.
Funny, one of the main reasons to buy this Mackbook was so that I could finally bin my old PC and at last run all my Windows apps on my Mac - I could have one computer on my desk!
I was OK with some apps running slower using Apples emulator - but didn't figure some apps would not work at all.
Here is some verse - I hope will cheer other Intel Mac users up while we wait for this update......
* An ode to Intel Snapz users *
If you buy Intel Mac, and need to use your Snapz
It's like going one step forward, and then two steps back...
One PC goes off your desk,
But now you need two Macs!

Hello-
The problem seems to be pretty universal on the MacBooks and the Minis.
If anyone has SP X working on either machine, please let me know.
Also, if this is happening to anyone on a MacBook Pro, please let me know.

Which isn't too surprising considering they both use the same graphics processor (Intel GMA 950). I'm willing to bet you'd see the same crashes on the new education iMac.

I'm so mad at Apple for not making a proper replacement for the 12" Powerbook. Had they done this - I would not be in this situation as 'Two Macs Jeff'.
I really didn't want to buy this stink'in non snapz working Macbook - but I had to because the 15" Powerbook I had was way to big to carry around.
Why? Don't people need power and portability?
It's not Ambrosias fault the Macbook has this crummy GMA 950.
Apple really really let me down on this one.... boy am I narked....
All I wanted was a 13" Macbook Pro.....
Grumble.....
