Tried to take a pic of a selection and everything goes fine until after I name the pic then it make the normal sound and I get the beach ball of death. Nothing works after that. Then entire machine is froze.
After restart the pics show up where they are.
Any ideas?

Hello-
Does this happen as you enter the file name?
Do the letters appear in the file name field as you type them, or is the spinning cursor coming up as the system "catches up" to your typing?
Try deselecting the file name option just for testing - does the problem persist?
