I'm running a Dual2G G5, with ProTools through a ProControl. To hear audio through ProTools I have to have "Stereo Mix" in ProControl activated... but to hear all other audio through the computer, with ProTools closed, I have to use "SRC3"... that being said, I can't get any audio into WireTapPro... I've tried changing the preferences to Digidesign HW, MacAudio, etc.... I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.... any suggestions??
thanks,

What exactly are you trying to do?

Are you trying to record the audio that your Mac is playing? Or the audio from an input into an input device?

If you want to record what your Mac is playing, "Mac Audio" is the only choice. I really don't know anything about ProTools with ProControl, so there may very well be a conflict.

Try setting the audio output to Built-in, in the system preferences, and then see if WireTap Pro can record the audio that your Mac is playing. I suggest getting in touch with us via e-mail: help@ambrosiasw.com. Send a very detailed description of what you're trying to do.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I'm trying to record audio from a DVD. Just catch a few lines of dialog, to either mp3 or aiff, to import into ProTools. I can play the DVD, and hear it, but I don't get any input to WireTap... I'll retry the settings again, I'm sure there's something I haven't done. The setup seems kind of squirrely, but this is how it works. I will send a detailed email. Thanks again for your help.

I figured it out!!! I went into the System Preferences, and changed the "Sound Output" from Digidesign HW to Built In Audio, which I could then hear off of the small computer speaker, imported the audio into WireTap from the DVD... once the mp3 file was created, I changed the system settings back to Digidesign HW, and viola... it worked! I only post this in case anyone has a similar setup. Thanks again for your help.

Hello-
Thanks for the followup. This is one flaw we're working on in WireTap Pro right now.
