hi, i have an old powermac 5400, it has av inputs, and can apple video player to watch tv. Rather than going out to buy a capture package thats 200 bucks or more, i wanted to try this. can i capture vdeio that is displayed using apple video player. I have tried it and all it captures is a black screen, not the video. also, i updated to 5 to see if that might help, now i get an quiktime initiz error -50, i geuss i could downgrade back to 3, if that was what caused the -50 error. but that would not fix my original error.

thanks
Josh

Apple Video Player comes with built-in capture functions, both still and video. Bring up the controls window and click on the camcorder icon.

What OS are you running on that machine?

The Video Player is OS 7,8 and 9 only isn't it?

My thinking is the AV inputs are displaying that video on a level that Snapz Pro just doesn't see, so it's capturing a black screen. Similar to trying to capture from DVD on OS 7/8 and 9.
