Not sure what went wrong, but now, if I make a movie, call it blah, lets say, when I start recording I see a blah file show up, then disappear from the desktop, and after I save, the same thing, but no file, anywhere. not in trash, not in tmp, not using Terminal, can't find any of my files.

Tried with 2.0.2, then upgraded to 2.0.3, no diff.

I thought it was something I was doing, but my Snapz Pro will not save .mov either. Of course, I found this out after taping for an hour!

What's up? What's the trick to make it save?

I running a 1.87 GHz G5 PPC with 2GB of ram under 10.4.7

Hello-
Sorry for the frustration.

This should be a very rare occurance, but can crop up when changes are made to QuickTime, or the codecs available to QT.

We do have the workaround explained in the online FAQs, and we'll see what we can do on our end to make it more reliable.

From the FAQ:
Try this - trash the Snapz Pro X 2 preferences. Go into Home/Library/Preferences and drag the com.ambrosiasw.snapz.plist file to the trash.

Then reboot your machine. Invoke Snapz Pro X 2 and record a short movie file. When you get to the Save Movie dialog, click on the Settings button next to the video track. Change the compression codec selected to any of the others available. This should explicitly tell QT which codec to use (this problem happens if QT forgets [for lack of a better word] which codec to use) to save out the video track.

Click on OK, and then click on Save.
