Full Version: Dragster - run AppleScript or Zip on transfer?

Great job with Dragster. I like it a lot.

I'd love to see some capability to operate on a file before copying, such as zipping or performing an AppleScript and then having Dragster operate on the result of the zip or AppleScript.

Things like this would make a nice quick and dirty back up utility possible (e.g. copy a file onto a backup server multiple time and you end up with multiple compressed time stamped archives); more efficient e-mailing of files; etc..

Or does this capability exist and I need to read the docs a little more thoroughly?

Thanks

Dragster is AppleScriptable (that's how the contextual menu works) and comes with an Automator action. So it's certainly possible to script to your needs. I'll try to put together some example scripts and workflows that do this. Even in 1.0 we include a sample script that shows some of the possibilities, and the "Send to Dragster Shortcut" action is automatically available to Automator.
