I haven't been able to find anything about when Wii will start being in stock (consistently). I'd like to get one, but I'm not about to pay $500 for one.

Umm to be hones I have no idea. It could be as late as march since really that's when the sorta semi official start for the Wii and the PS3 is. As it stands right now they've got their launch titles and not much else. Around then is when all the big stuff is supposed to hit.

Last Sunday (the 21st) was another big Wii day. Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to determine when or where you might find them. Stores have been holding the boxes that they get, and picking a Sunday morning to put them all on sale. What makes the matter worse is that the employees supposedly aren't allowed to tell customers when they will go on sale. So, the best advice I can give is to read your local adverts Sunday morning (or Sat at midnight online) or try to figure out when beforehand when they will go on sale (I'll try to keep an eye out as well), and then show up when they open, or get there a while early.

When I got mine in December, my wife and I arrived at around 3:30 AM. The allotment of 17 was spoken for at about 5:30 (although we didn't know that), and vouchers were given out at about 7:00, an hour before the store opened. There were lots of people around between 7:30 and 8:00 who thought they were in line, and got really mad at me when I told them they were already sold out - before the store opened.

Hope this info helps!

I got mine on December 30th from the Fred Meyer in Ellensburg. We were intending on sending my sister back to Central on the 29th, and I wanted to come for a few reasons. The first was (obviously) to try to get a Wii; Ellensburg isn't that big, and since the place was practically empty (the city is really active during school time), it would've been our best bet to get one. The other reason was because I wanted to see what my sis's apartment looked like. I hadn't actually been there yet, and was dying to see.

As it turns out, It was perfect timing: when we went to the store to ask about the Wii, they said they'd be getting a new shipment that night. They said "Check back @ 9:00 PM." Well, we did just that, but found out they really couldn't actually give any away until tomorrow morning (if anyone found out they were being given away that night, you can bet that a lot of people would have been very pissed). The store opened at 7 AM. So me and my dad were wanting to be there at around 5:30.

The sleep I got that night wasn't very good. I kept waking up every hour or so thinking "OMIGOSH what time is it?!?" and finding out that I had yet to reach the 5:30 mark. The fact that sleeping on the floor wasn't very comfortable didn't help matters, either.

Well, the time finally came: me and dad didn't bother to shower (every second counted), and we set out, quietly (there were a few people at the College, but not enough worth mentioning). So we get into the parking lot, which, at that point, is practically deserted. There were 2 other cars there, and I asked dad "Should we get out?" He said we should wait, but then we saw a couple people walking towards the front door. His mind changed quickly, as you might guess.

Turns out we were third in line. Third out of only 27 Wiis that were delivered. By the time the store opened at 7 AM, the line had increased to about 20 more customers (there were more people than that, but most of them were father/son or other combinations intending on buying). We walked in, got our Wii and other necessary hardware, paid the 300-and-some-odd number bucks for the equipment, and walked out.

Now I have Twilight Princess and Downhill Jam, and I've beaten Princess already (Which I got last Sunday, I might add). However, I also had the guide for it, which sorta helped speed things along. All I'll say is this: it has the most awesome ending cinematic I've ever seen.

With that story out of the way, Mr. Ventress, I guess the only thing I can tell you is to go to your nearest Fred Meyer and ask when they're getting their next shipment of Wiis in. Once you find out, make a point to do everything you can to ensure you get it.

I've already got a Wii. And my dad didn't even have to stand in line: He managed to snatch one from the Wal-mart that's about a mile from here on his way back home from work.

They finally got them, huh? My Dad still lives there and the last time I talked to him about it, said they couldn't be found anywhere - but that was a few weeks ago.

Tennessee (Nashville, at least) is another story. I haven't seen any on shelves, including when I got mine in December - since they were all spoken for before the store opened, they were never placed on shelves.

That would explain why I never saw any, since I'm in Nashville as well. smile.gif

Well, I would offer to send you a PM whenever I see a store with them in stock, but they'd probably be all sold by then. My advice would be to read the Sunday ads, preferably online at midnight, because they usually state if they will have them in stock (Best Buy said they had a minimum of 20 in all their Nashville stores on Sunday)

Walmart on Charlotte Pike today did not have any

Note to Rochestarians: Charlotte Pike in Nashville is not pronounced like Charlotte. But then again, no one pronounces Charlotte like Charlotte, or Chili like Chili.

Ah, we crazy Rochester folk.

It only finds online sales though.
