Some people in Second Life's beta grid using Voice Chat claim that they have been able to use Garagebands' voice distortion tools and then directly import the sound live into the game's voice chat using WireTap Pro. I purchased WireTap Pro just to play around with it. I have toyed with a lot of settings in WireTap's preferences, in System Preferences, and Garageband's preferences. Nothing seems to be playing through to Second Life. Is there a trick, or an addon, or a specific setting I may have missed?

Sorry...I have no idea about this. What part are you expecting WireTap Pro to play in this? I'm not sure what you are expecting to happen or how WireTap Pro would help.

What I gathered from what people were saying that you can pump sound and from Garageband or iTunes, then wiretap pro takes all sound from your system and plays it through to any other application live without recording the sound to a file. So like... You're talking with voice chat, and you want friends to listen to some cool music, or you want to use the voice digitizers in Garageband to mask your voice. The people I talked to on Second Life said it was possible to have the sound playthrough with WireTap Pro.

WireTap Pro does not have this capability. WireTap Pro records audio from applications and microphones to a file only.

I wonder what would happen if you had it write to a named pipe... and then pulled that data into somewhere else.
