Hi, I have been making screencasts with snapz pro and saving as quicktime movies, the quicktime movies are very good quality, unfortunately not everyone has quicktime. So I have been converting to 2 other formats, wmf for windows users and uploading to youtube (flash) for everyone else. The wmf looks ok but not great when I covert, but the youtube looks horrible.

Here are some examples:
http://beta.gottakeepup.com/scast.mov (quicktime)

http://beta.gottakeepup.com/windowscast.html (wmf)

http://beta.gottakeepup.com/youtube.html (youtube flash)

I realize the flash is never going to be as good as the other given their limits on resolution size and frame rate, but what can I do to get the best possible result?

Youtube says : http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/...opic=&type=
but I dont know how to get snapz prod to directly encode at:

* MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format
* 320x240 resolution
* MP3 audio
* 30 frames per second

Any suggestions appreciated.

thanks
Joel

Hey Joel,
Snapz will be able to meet all of GoogleTube's recommendations except for the audio. Snapz does not currently support MP3 audio. Regardless of what what you upload though, they are going to convert it to suit their needs and requirements. I would upload some small clips using other formats and see how they turn out on YouTube. Have you tried H.264?

I looked at your examples. The audio volume was real low (my volume slider on iMac was 80%) could not help loading the files into mpegstreamclip. Maybe uncompressed audio will be converted by the uploader? Guessing, till I get some spine and get an account.
CODE

Video Tracks:
H.264, 640 × 576, ~10 fps
Audio Tracks:
16-bit Little Endian mono, 22.05 kHz, 353 kbps

Hello,
No, YouTube will accept other formats. The default audio settings from Snapz should work fine. IMA 4:1, 22.050 kHz, 16 bit, mono. If you still have problems, please let us know what audio settings you are using. Hope this helps smile.gif
