Full Version: blurry movement when converting to H264 MP4

I usually record my screen capture video with panning into the standard "Animation" codec. And then later convert them using Quicktime to an h264 mp4 (I like to keep a higher quality if needed later). But after compression into h264, the movies are blurry when there is a lot of movement on the screen (like the panning panning) although it quickly clear up back into a sharper resolution once the panning stops. Is there something I can do during the recording of the movie to make the panning movement smoother when the video is compressed into a format like h264? Or a better way to convert?

thanks! Joe

Hello Joe,
Setting your framerate higher may help. Not sure what you are using now. But having more frames per second should yield smoother motion provided your computer can handle it. Hope this helps smile.gif
