The plot can't keep up with Sonic.
Since nobody cares about plot in a Sonic game, the only issue were controls. Sometimes they were really great, othertimes a hassle.

When exactly do you see that happening? Personally i thought everything up to SAB2 was at least decent. Then sonic heros hit and shit went downhill.
Heh. And I thought that SA1 was great, hideous control issues aside, while SA2 had hideous
level design issues which you can't fix by just learning what parts of the controls don't work. And SH was pretty decent.

Anyone seen today's update on Lucas' abilities? The text at the top seems to heavily imply that Ness isn't coming back.

There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar. They are from the same family of PK users.

That would be a shame...Ness was always one of my favorite characters, right behind Pichu. The lack of their inclusion, however, will of course in no way affect the fact that I really really want this game (and a Wii...but blah blah blah).

Also the fact that lucas's moves seem too similar to Ness's when they're talking about no more copycat's kinda means bye bye ness.

The site's written by a native Japanese speaker. I actually rather like the "accent" - it's quirky, just like the game.
Ness would have been gone in SSBM if they'd had Lucas' game ready by the time SSBM was released. Frankly I never really liked Ness; weird handling and odd attack arcs made him a pain to play. Not that Lucas will necessarily be any easier, but at least he doesn't appear to depend on a yo-yo.

You've got a point. I mean, Samus is the only one with the capability to defeat Ridley since Ridley comes from the world of the Metroid series. No one else you see carries a payload of missles and a genetic bio-suit. I would like to see Mecha-Ridley though. I would like Ridley as a character, but he's kinda big. I mean, Samus is pretty tall in SSBM, and Ridley is about 5 times taller than her.

EDIT: That
is the Zero-suit that you see. If you played Metroid Zero Mission you would know what they're talking about a little better. The Zero-suit is like a jump-suit that Samus wears while her Chozo power suit is not equiped. The only joyfull memory I got out of using the Zero-suit was that... uh I enjoyed nothing about it at all. Her defence sucked, her weapon was non-lethal since she said her self it was a weak backup pistol, you could barely get anywhere since you couldn't destroy any of the blocks, she didn't stand a chance against the simplest of enemies, yet it was a different playing experience that challenged even my expertice at that game. Also, I was complaining at the removal of Roy and Marth earlier, and I saw that they now have Ike. I no longer have any complaints since Roy and Marth are from the Japanese verison of Fire Emblem, and Ike comes from the American version and looks a lot cooler. I also like the new graphics on Link. Twilightish. I wasn't expecting the Gameboy style pokemon trainer to be in there. I wasn't expecting Snake either.

I've wanted Ridley since I saw him in the SSBM opening cinematics. They made him Samus' height, which suggests that they're open to the possibility of a "small" Ridley as a fighter. He's my style.

I have a feeling that, if Ridley is in the game, we won't know until somebody unlocks him. Honestly, I'm going to cut myself from all discussion from SSBB, at least unlockable related, so not to spoil the "OMG!" factor when I unlock someone cool/been wanting to see.

On the balance side ever since E for all theres been a whole lot of discussion about whats been discovered.
off the top of my head all i can remember was:
bowers-buffed
Ike-new bowser
metaknight-quite good
Pit-ok
Fox-nerfed pretty hard
Either way this is all just guessing because with so many gameplay changes it'll be awhile before anyone knows how true any of this is. This is of course excluding further balancing on the dev end which is almost certain to happen.

Ike as the "new bowser", does that mean that, as of the E 4 All version, he wasn't very good?
And Fox getting nerfed really badly... ouch. He's been my best character since SSB, that'll be a shame if they made him really sucky.

Ike currently isn't very good. He seems to have the highest killing power of all of the playable characters, and the speed of a glacier.
As for fox in melee him and falco are currently the best two characters in the game so him getting beaten with a nerf stick isn't that surprising. He is however still playable, just not godly.

Not too much on opinions. It's pretty much a fact that two players of equal skill, one using pichu, and one using fox, the fox player will win. He can use the SFFL technique amazingly fast and wave dash well. His up b and left/right B help you recover amazingly well and get to the ledge for that invincible few frames. His gun is just nice damage. Finally its his reflector that makes him godly. ITs an instant startup meteor attack which while amazingly hard to use is flat out deadly at high levels.

I do understand that tiers, but I don't put a whole bunch of belief into them. They're based on 1v1, no items, tournament-accepted maps, however many stock they use in tournament matches. I tend to play 1v1 no items, but Smash isn't all about that. In SSB, I always did 1v1v1v1 all items minus hammer on very high, for example.
I'm just hoping that they don't nerf Fox to the point I can't be good with him anymore.

I always found tournament play to be rather silly. I recognize that there are people who enjoy it, but for me, Smash Bros. is all about the four-player melee with plenty of items and general craziness. Maybe it's not as effective a measure of skill, but it's a hell of a lot more fun.

I use Ice Climbers or Peach...nice to see they're both coming back. And nerfed Fox/Falco+no Marth? HAPPY TIMES.

If you state that "It is a fact that, in situation X, 100% of the time event Y will happen", and someone comes along and says "But I was in situation X and Y didn't happen!" then they've just disproven your statement. It only takes one counterexample for a generalization to be disproven.
This is, incidentally, why it's basically impossible to prove anything about the universe. We can say that "As far as we have observed, in situation X, Y alwayss occurs", but we haven't observed the entire universe; there might be some bizarre set of circumstances that would allow for Y in the absence of X.

Mmmk...and the point of that was? Were you actually replying to what I said, or what G-Spark said?
The reason I so sarcastically said that was because all he said was "I beat my friend who was Fox while I was Pichu." He in turn was responding to Eji who said that it is "pretty much" (not 100% of the time, mind you) certain that with two players of equal skill, a Fox player will win while a Pichu player will not.
We have no idea if G-Spark and his friend are on equal skill levels. Perhaps his Fox-playing friend is much worse than he is. Perhaps he simply had never used Fox before while G-Spark uses Pichu every single game. A single instance with so little information given does not disprove a general trend which has (apparently, I don't keep up with this sort of thing so I have no idea) shown itself to be true in more than one case.

Jigglypuff is surprisingly a beast! The last few times I played I was trying to be much more aggressive aerially, and Jigglypuff is great for that. There's nothing like knocking a foe off the stage, pursuing them off the stage, hitting them three times to guarantee the KO, and getting back from out of the screen boundary without any effort. Plus Rollout rocks.
I prefer using Pikachu over Pichu. More damage and range.

We're on equal skill levels. Just trust me. I hate Pichu to say the least. Not as much range as Pikachu, but he's cuter. I'd rather use Roy. I can beat him with Roy too people. To say the least, neither of us have much skill with either of those characters I mentioned previously, so we were about even. I get pwned all the time with Pichu, and he's never used Fox all that much. It goes something like this:
My friend + Roy Vs. Me + Link = I get pwned to the max.
Friend + Fox Vs. Me + Roy = He gets pwned.
Friend + Samus Vs. Me + Link = I get pwned.
...
...
...
Friend = Fox Vs. Me + anyone = He gets pwned. You get the picture. I get pwned if he doesn't have Fox, and when he does, I kick his butt.
