I have not yet found a way to upload video made from Quicktime video screen captures (e.g. to demonstrate software) to YouTube, without unacceptable smearing and blurriness resulting from the YouTube resampling that is done when they convert the video to Flash.

My source video is 480 x 272 (iMovie '08 "Export Mobile" default setting). I'm trying to produce a file that will look good on YouTube, and so far I've tried a variety of 4:3 sizes, including 425 x 318 (per advice found at http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/youtu...ssor_gary.html) and the YouTube-recommended 320 x 240. So far, the results have all been smeared and blurry.

Some sites state that if you transfer your video to Flash Video format prior to uploading it to YouTube, using certain settings, YouTube will not resample your video, but I have not yet found that to be the case.

Is there a way to format a video made from Snapz video screen captures for YouTube, that can result in acceptable image quality?

Hello,
I was under the impression YouTube would recompress everything. Sorry, not too sure. I would image there's some sort of forum for YouTube content providers that should be able to help?
