His new game "Cosmic Osmo's Hex Isle" looks quite good, but they totally screwed Osmo himself over!

New Osmo:

Original Osmo:

Osmooooo! Where can I get a hold of this juicy goodness?

Neeeat.

Ewwww. Not only did they screw up Osmo, they're making it an arcade game:

At least it seems to be the same people making it, rather than Cyan being bought out by one of the huge companies in order to acquire the franchise. What's next, Myst pinball? D'ni Invaders? Professor Spelunx Teaches Typing?

Whoa, I was really young when that came out. I remember it had a neat holographic cover, and I figured out how to shoot a rocket. Vague memories, those.

Same here. Still go to the Osmoian galaxy today to do stuff like play Gut-Buster and Ship Chip Lander, blow up the lab, and feed the hand-eating pumpkin!

Also, I agree with Captain Bob. This is NOT the Cosmic Osmo we grew up, unfortunately.

SRSLY WTF

ORLY? NORLY...

This makes me sad. All my (rather foggy, as I was at least 5) memories of the games Cyan made have just gotten ripped into thousands of tiny pieces by this development. I kinda wish they'd leave the past alone and make something new, something else that would give me more memories and not remind me of something I'll miss forever.

*sigh*--younguns (although I was just about too young for this too, but at least I know of it)

Cosmic Osmo is from Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds Beyond the Mackerel

Read and be enlightened.

That article needs improvement. It's only rated Start-class.

I totally agree. This is NOT the Osmo we remember fondly. This a mutated version, trapped in a 3-D world devoid of swabs, Gut-Buster, Ship Chip Lander, rockets and castle turrets, superhot cores, trash cans bearing black holes, and hand-eating pumpkins!

Hear hear!

If it was released on CD, then I'm definitely not too young. I just had never heard of it before.

Osmo was great fun - but does anyone know if there was anything you could do with those letter blocks in the refrigerator (if my memory serves)? I recall that being about the only thing in the game with which I couldn't discover anything to do.

I read, and I'm not enlightened. I however have played Manhole. I had that on a really really old apple computer that my dad kept in my room. It was fun.

Yes, but you weren't the only one; and I bet that there were others who were too young for it, as I almost was. I wasn't replying specifically to you.

My apologies. Here, have a full refund. The check for zero cents is in the mail.
