Due out by 2009.

Some interesting rumors going on about this, some people did some freeze frames of the video and deciphered a few things, if you're into that sort of thing.

I've decided to play the original Deus Ex, which there are some cool mods out for now, like:
* The new OpenGL renderer (freaking sweet, runs well, really tightens up the graphics): http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/
* The Shifter Mod (which may or may not ruin or extend game life for you): http://yukichigai.googlepages.com/shifter
* The HDTP Mod (they'll be making their second and final release this January): http://www.offtopicproductions.com/hdtp/

I've also played Invisible War, sorta wish I hadn't. It was lame from the start, lame in the middle, and even had a lame ending! Wow, how could they do that?

I have higher hopes for DX3, though.

What are some of your favorite mods for Deus Ex, and what are your hopes for Deus Ex 3?

Hey, you made a topic about this! I am going to try out that OpenGL renderer mod.

Edit: OK, it's just a .dll file, no readme. How do I use it?
Lizard
Deus Ex, The Matrix, The Godfather, Star Wars, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Spot the common trend.

Totally geeky yet totally awesome?

I think he is implying something about the quality of sequels.

Wow, that was pretty quick. Doesn't look like a prequel, but who knows?

I'm wary after DX2 (Lizard hit it spot on), but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. And now two of my top two favorite games have sequels in development, so it's a good time to be Veritus.

And as soon as I get home to my computer with Classic I'll try that OpenGL renderer, I think...

edit: really, the great question is what platform(s) it'll be for. Here's for hoping not a console.

OH OH ! Things that got worse as they kept going.

That said i've only ever played invisible war, and although i haven't beat it i like it. True the story seems pointless but i really like the whole system of freedom(granted i know thats in the first one as well.). Now if only i hadn't run out of ammo and saved in a room where the only exit was a guard infested hell.

Okay, so, like, put it in the System directory under C:\\Deus Ex\ (or wherever you got that), replacing the regular OpenGL renderer. Then you gotta have the settings. Which are as follows...

Set your render device as OpenGL (if you haven't already)
CODE
[Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice

Set your resolution...
CODE
[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1440
WindowedViewportY=900
WindowedColorBits=32
FullscreenViewportX=1440
FullscreenViewportY=900
FullscreenColorBits=32

Finally, the important part-- these are my settings, look here if you think different settings are more appropriate for your machine -- http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/settings.html

Thanks. I'll try that out soon... but probably not until after finals. sad.gif. I barely have enough time to browse these forums, never mind game for an hour or two.
