Guys can you please test your products WAY more than you currently are, I've already had to get a refund for Wiretap..

Mac osx 10.4.11 / Intel iMac : Dragster 105 doesn't work at all, you drag files into the dock and it opens the prefs panel instead.

Edit : just installed on the ppc G5 and it seems ok

..back on the iMac, i've fixed permissions, reinstalled...tried everything..it simply does not work.

sigh rolling back to 103 on all our macs....

quick edit...OK! after a lot of boring testing...trashing the 'com.ambrosiasw.dragster.plist' seemed to reset it
and now it's working..

i did have to do it a couple of times and restart...

dear o dear.

I never could get Dragster to work reliably via AppleScript. I am using Transmit now instead and it works perfectly.

Sorry for your frustration. The behavior you're seeing occurs when Dragster is set to "Run as background application". In that mode, Dragster is accessible via a menu bar extra and its contextual menu, but doesn't bring up its regular menu and doesn't show in the Dock at all unless you chose "Keep in Dock". This behavior is very confusing if you aren't expecting it (we've gotten other similar reports), and rather than bring up the prefs window in the case you saw, I should probably bring up some sort of explanatory dialog instead.

The contextual menu uses Dragster's AppleScript interface, so it ought to be reasonably well tested. I did a fix a couple minor AppleScript issues in 1.0.5. If you get a chance to report specific bugs with it, I can take a look. But I understand if you're happy with Transmit.

Cool! I'll look into it this weekend (when my automated backups run). I'm not unhappy that I bought Dragster, but getting it to work in an automated fashion would make me very happy. I'll work with it again over the weekend and let you know the results.

P.S. - I used Dragster via AppleScript using Automator, if that makes a difference.

Dragster's Automator action now works under Leopard, which it didn't before. However, I just got a report the other day that it only works within the Automator app itself, not as a Finder plugin. So that will have to wait until the next version, unfortunately.

But if you mean running your own AppleScript in Automator, rather than using the built-in action, I'm not aware of any reason it shouldn't work.
