Ok I have an application that has normal audio output and then an auxiliary program (daemon) that runs in the background for voice support -- also audio. The main program shows up in the record from list but the voice one in the background doesn't. Is there any way to add it to the list?

What application are you referring to? I am not sure how that would work. I don't believe WireTap Studio will be able to recognize a daemon process though. I will point the developers to this post. Maybe they will have a better answer.
