AWESOME THANKS!!!!

Just wanted to share an easy way to complete the renaming of the ".m4a" to ".m4r". I use R-Name (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14404), a handy free little app that allows you to batch change file names. I changed my 16 custom ringtones use this program and it worked like a charm and synced and worked perfectly on my Phone. I hope this helps someone!

I'm almost surprised that someone hasn't put together an applescript for the renaming of files (at least).

Given that ASW has generally been pretty good about getting fixes out, I think the assumption is that the fix will be out soon enough not to bother about.

I would do this workflow too, but with one minor change. Instead, try GO DODGERS!!! smile.gif

Back on-topic, a bit, I've put together an Applescript that changes file extensions from whatever you tell it to whatever else you tell it.

Assuming you have your old itoner ringtones in one folder, you can change the "m4a" extensions to "m4r" in one fell swoop.

This should "fill the gap" until iToner is updated.

I've been using this rename hack, and it works fine - iToner transfers the file, I can play it on my iPhone and set it as my ringtone. Problem is, the file keeps disappearing when I do another sync, so I have to go into iToner again and put it back. Next day, same thing. Hoping for yet another update from Ambrosia with a more "durable" fix (c'mon guys, you're not gonna let Apple win on this, are you?)...
