Everyone at the office today took a moment to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the official introduction of the Macintosh computer. We dusted off an original 128K and gathered around for some Apple cupcakes. On special request, I'm posting pics from the event...enjoy!

Say hello to Macintosh. 128K of RAM, 400K floppy drive, retail price: $2495.

The lonely few remaining cupcakes mourn the loss of their departed brothers.

Ehhehheh. laugh.gif I like the cupcake thing. Hm, this seems like an appropriate time for me to reuse this picture.

The birthday may be for a computer, but it is a birthday/anniversary, and every good birthday/anniversary deserves cake, and heck, it's even modeled after another electronic. Not a computer but...

We have an old 128k lying around. Used to let my niece play with it instead of with our more valuable newer computers. smile.gif

My first computer was a Mac II.

Hey, my Strings teacher has the first model of the Mac in her room, unused. My friend Jimbo proved it still works.

My family's first Mac was a Performa 405, and it still lives today. I've also acquired various older Macs that are still running. They sure don't make 'em like they used to, in that regard.

My first computer was a KayPro, but the first computer that I really enjoyed using was a Mac II (the motherboard was signed and everything). I used that computer until I graduated from high school in 1999. I wish my mother hadn't given it away. :'(

Yay for Mac! If I was able to, I'd go dig out my Performa 575 and play some classic games like EVC, Ares, and Maelstrom to celebrate (even if I'm a few days late). Alas, its over 80 miles away from my college dorm.

Man, I love the old Macs. It's too bad my mom got rid of ours. It was 256k I think and it had quite a few good games on it, too. The other programs were really useful, too. I doubt you can find ink cartridges for those anymore.

Edit: Spelling.

Do they have to be older Mac computers?
If not, my first computer is a PowerBook G3 300MHz.
Yes, I still use it. Heck, I'm using it right now!
