I'm not getting any signal levels on my recorder window or in my preferences source panel. mad.gif
I've chosen both the built-in audio and the default device (which is the built in audio) as my source. I'm trying to record a streaming quicktime .asf that I can hear fine through my speakers but that doesn't show up n the meter levels on my source nor does anything record when I start recording, it only records silence.

What am I doing wrong? It worked fine the first time I used it to record that same type of stream right after I registered it. sad.gif

Thanks.

Hello CryptpyrC,
Sorry for your frustration. What do you have set for output in your System Preferences? What application is playing the stream (e.g QuickTime, Safari, etc.)? Select that application as the source. The other menu should be set to "None". `Hope this helps smile.gif

I'm having the exact same problem. no audio input. I've tried several options, my mian audio is run through a MOTU PCI-424, but I also tried Mac audio, just to capture anything including Itunes. nothing. no audio input.

I'm on 10.4.11 2.66 ghz dual Xeon, with 9 gig or ram. all other audio software and applications work perfectly.

any clues? I REALLY want to use this software!!

Hello mtnjam,
Try setting your output to the built-in audio in you System Preferences. Unfortunately we can't guarantee it will work with third party audio controllers.

based on what you said, I finally found a combo that will record, but VERY sadly the application is not usable for me in that mode. built in audio as my only option is unusable. thanks for your help but regrettable I can't use your product in my studio.

thanks.

Do you mean the source in the preferences in WireTap? Because in the Mac system prefs you cannot set the output to an application, only choices are Digital-out or Line-out...
If you mean in WireTap I've tried default device (built-in audio), both the line & digital in (even though I know it's neither of these because the source is internal).

This is a Windows Media stream. I've tried WireTapping this stream playing as either a windows media stream or in Flip4Mac WMV player that plays windows media streams in quicktime as .asf's...? Any way I stream it I can't get wiretap to get any signal!! This is very frustrating because this stream will only be online for limited time and I need to save it as a file. mad.gif

Yes, I meant the source in WireTap. Are you getting any errors? Are you able to hear the stream OK? Do you get a signal from any other applications? If you can hear it, there should be no problem recording it. Selecting "Mac Audio" as the source in WireTap Studio will record any sound being output. Ideally, you should select the application playing the sound, which I believe it QuickTime Player in your case. If you still have problems, feel free to call us and see if we can walk you through this.
