ROCHESTER, New York -- February 20, 2008 -- Shawn King of YourMacLife.com radio show, the longest running show dealing with the Mac, has recently been contacted by an unidentified group reportedly holding a 2007 Macworld Editors Choice Award for ransom. For those that need clarification, ransom is the practice of holding a prisoner to extort money or property to secure their release.
The trophy had been awarded to the creators of DiskWarrior 4, Alsoft at the recent Macworld San Fransciso. Reports are scattered, but unsure how the trophy had been taken into possession by the mysterious group. Alsoft has yet to comment on the news.
Ambrosia Software offers its support, as they also won a Macworld Eddy for their innovative audio software, WireTap Studio. We fear that our trophy might be hit next by these individuals, and hope that Alsoft decides to take the route offered by the extremists. Their demands, albeit weird, seem a small price to pay for the return of the trophy. We hope that the Eddy does not have to endure any more horrific trauma that it already has.
In a daring and selfless act, Shawn King has decided to act as intermediary for both parties if they so wish.
To see the ransom note which has the list of demands, the captures have set up the website:

Our hearts and wishes go out to the trophy, and we hope for an uneventful return to the Alsoft Offices.
