The initial photo which (might be a snap shot from a possible video) had been under analysis from the authorities, and now been leaked to the press from unknown sources:

Compared to other images from the FBI files it was confirmed that this is indeed Hector D. Byrd.
Hector and possibly the cohorts (uncomfirmed):

Ambrosia Software wishes to offer our apologies to Alsoft for our mascot going rogue and taking such a shocking turn to the corrupt world of crime. Andrew Welch, el Presidente of Ambrosia Software, has made a statement to the press saying that while he is upset, he's is not shocked at the news. "That bird always was crazy, I mean, just look at those beady little eyes, and the way she used to laugh in that maniacal tone. It really was something we should have seen coming." The statement was then followed up with a tale of heroism as Welch also told of how Hector attempted to steal yet another trophy from the very office that was her home.
Ambrosia Software had also won a Macworld Editors Choice award for their innovative audio capturing and editing software, WireTap Studio, and this was another apparent target for the bird. It seems that late in the night, while their newly appointed IT Guru, Jake Cebula, was tending to the servers, the bird swooped in and attempted to steal the trophy. Welch adds, "If it wasn't for Jake's quick thinking and devastating prowess in wielding Ethernet cables, we surely would have lost our Eddy to these monsters, as well."
The FBI and other leading criminal investigators feel that Hector is targeting companies that have been extremely beneficial in the Mac community and the 15th year anniversary of Ambrosia Software might have been the catalyst for these strange events.
Acting as the ring leader, Hector D. Byrd had already offered the ransom note and a list of demands to Alsoft as of last week. The list can be seen here:

Alsoft has taken the approach to not agree to the kidnappers demands and have yet to make contact with Hector D. Byrd in hopes that they will not follow through with their threats.
Perhaps in an unheard of act of Heroism (or perhaps they have seen far to many episodes of "24") Ambrosia Software has vowed to take the fight to these masked bandits and has declared that they will search out their rogue Mascot and find the trophy. Their hope is to clear the Ambrosia name and return the trophy unharmed.
"The Mac Community must stick together," said John Champlin, PR Guru and primary bird handler for Ambrosia Software. "We will do what we can, and use any resource at our fingertips to get the trophy back to Alsoft and capture Hector D. Byrd."
