Full Version: If YOU were a Smash Bros. Character

G-Spark
Well you can't really compare Golden Sun to Legend of Zelda though.
0101181920
Besides the sacred swords, elemental thingies, magic powers (okay, it's technically psionics. Big deal.), and the fact that the main character has no dialogue.
G-Spark
Is there another version you're thinking about besides the Gameboy Advance version? Because I know he talks in that one.
0101181920
No, there isn't. Where does he talk? I'm pretty sure all he does is nod.
scienceguy8
I say in the unlikely event they make another Smash Brothers, it should feature some of the most legendary of video game characters, regardless of copyright holder, platform, etc.

In which case:

Game Universe: Half-Life
Rights Holder: Valve Software
Playable Characters: 2
Assist Trophies: 2
Items: 1

Characters:

Name: Dr. Gordon Freeman
Appearance: male human, tall, wiry build with crew-cut brown hair, well kept mustache and goatee, black plastic framed squarish glasses, wearing an orange protective armored suit known as the HEV Suit MK. V, with lambda symbol on chest, holding red crowbar in right hand
Fighting Style: midrange speed, low jump height, crowbar is brandished like a sword or club, no ranged attacks
Taunts:
1. Swings crowbar sword-like through the air
2. Pulls up hood on HEV Suit for a couple seconds
3. Lifts left foot behind right and taps crowbar to heel like a baseball bat
Final Smash: Resonance Cascade
Gordon fastens the hood on his HEV Suit as the arena begins to shake. The lighting takes on a greenish quality and electrical discharges form in the background. Gordon then disappears, having been teleported out to safety. Various Half-Life creatures such as head crabs and ant lions appear and begin attacking players. Barnacles (unseen at the borders of the stage) lower their tentacles and will haul up anyone who gets caught in them, however rapidly hitting an attack button can cause the barnacle to release its prey. This lasts for about 5-10 seconds. At the end, the creatures disappear, while Gordon reappears and removes his hood.

Name: Alyx Vance
Appearance: female human, wearing jeans, grey shirt, brown jacket, hair is brown with red highlights brushed back
Fighting Style: faster than Gordon, slightly higher jumps, weaker melee attacks, but armed with a rapid fire handgun for ranged attacks
Taunts:
Not feeling creative enough at the moment, please check back later
Final Smash: Dog
Alyx's robotic sidekick, Dog, appears. Alyx then moves to the background of the stage. From here, Alyx will point at opponents (at the behest of the player), whom Dog will promptly attack. This lasts for about 20 seconds at most.

Victory theme and other things will be posted later in the thread due to a busy real-world schedule to maintain.

Assist Trophies:

Name: Vortigaunt
Function: will attack enemy players with ranged green lightning attack, will also grab and throw characters who get too close to the ground and then promptly hit them with the lightning attack

Name: Head Crab
Function: couples with the head of a nearby opponent, cutting the opponent's speed, strength, and agility in half while increasing susceptibility to damage, does continuous damage until it disappears

Items:

Name: Ant Lion Pheropod (Bug Bait)
Function: when picked up by a character it can then be thrown, if it connects with an opponent, ant lions will swoop in from off screen and attack the opponent for 5-10 seconds, if it hits the ground Ant Lions will swarm around the area and attack any opponent who gets too close

<Half Life Stuff>

Tech Bowser (who's earlier in the topic) can craft the Tau Cannon, which would also make for an awesome item.

Some ideas: Captain Hector, Qaanol, someone from a Blizzard franchise. Guess which of these will actually happen.

No, there isn't. Where does he talk? I'm pretty sure all he does is nod.
You must be thinking of the second game then because as the main character is Isaac, Felix talks, Isaac doesn't.
0101181920
Okay, I was talking about the second. Isaac talks in the second quite a bit. So he doesn't in the first, and Felix does?
G-Spark
Yup. Since Felix is the main the game II it makes sense that Isaac talks and Felix doesn't. Isaac just nods and such in the first game because he is the main character. Felix talks plenty.
0101181920
Ah, there we go. Isaac has about half the dialogue, not counting Kranden's because he has spends about nine tenths of the game talking.
S.S. Valor
Character: Valoran

Appearance: See my personal photo. That's my character.

Arsenal: Great-Sword, Zweihänder, Bill-hook, Javelin, Mourning Star.

Type: Heavy Melee Fighter
Attack Power: High
Speed: Slow

Neutral A (1st): Downwards swing of his great-sword.
Neutral A (2nd): Upwards swing of his great-sword.
Neutral A (3rd): Thrust of his great-sword.
Dashing A: Turn into a mass of ice, causing him to quickly slow down. (and freeze enemies on contact)

Side A: Toss a javelin. Charges to increase speed and damage and can be aimed up and down.
Up A: Thrusts his great-sword above his head.
Down A: Smash his great-sword into the ground, creating a small shock wave around him.

Side Smash A: Chargeable version of Neutral A (3rd).
Up Smash A: Chargeable version of Neutral A (2st).
Down Smash A: Chargeable version of Neutral A (1st).

Neutral Aerial ("Nair"): Burst into flame mid-air.
Forward Aerial ("Fair"): Create a small torrent of flames in front of himself.
Backward Aerial ("Bair"): Create a small torrent of flames behind himself.
Up Aerial ("Uair"): Create a small torrent of flames above himself.
Down Aerial ("Dair"): Create a small torrent of flames below himself.

Grab: Uses a bill-hook spear. Is twice the length of his great-sword.
Grab Attack: Stab his enemy with his great-sword.
Forward Throw: Toss his enemy in front of him, sending him a short distance. If the tossed character comes in contact with another character, both will be damaged.
Back throw: Swing the Bill-hook around him multiple times and release behind him, sending him high in the air (like the hammer toss in the Olympics). If the tossed character comes in contact with another character, both will be damaged and temporarily stunned.
Up Throw: Tosses his enemy high above him Caber-Toss style. If the tossed character comes in contact with another character, both will be damaged and temporarily stunned.
Down Throw: Smashes his enemy on the ground and crushes him with a large mourning (or morning... whatever.) star.

Neutral Special - Slash his zweihänder. During the attack, the blade is electrically charged.
Forward Special - Thrust his zweihänder in front of him. During the attack, the blade is burning.
Up Special - Thrust his zweihänder above his head. During the attack, the blade is covered in frost.
Down Special - Sheath his great-sword, and unsheathe a zweihänder. If Valoran is currently wielding the zweihänder, it is sheathed and he unsheathes his greatsword. If an enemy is hit during the sheathing/unsheathing, the character hit with the sword receives small damage.

FINAL SMASH: Shock-blade Technique. Valoran burst his sword he is currently using into flame, and then tosses the sword high into the air, leaps up, grabs the sword, chucks it into the ground, falls to the ground, takes the sword out of the ground and smashes it against the ground with the flat edge. The end effect is two walls of fire burst across the screen, dealing high damage. (and an instant KO with anyone that has at least 25% damage.) If an enemy is directly hit by the blade during the final smash, it is an instant KO.

On-Stage Appearance: Valoran flies in from his sub-dimensional warship, the S.S. Valor (it's a reference... but to what? rolleyes.gif).

Up Taunt: Valoran stabs the sword he is currently using into the ground and bursts into flames.
Side Taunt: Valoran juggles his 5 weapons.
Down Taunt: Valoran rapidly portals throughout the stage and then back to where he started, spelling out his name.

STAGE: Planet Borrus IV. The fight takes place in a fiery cave within the planet. Every so often, a part of the ground will break apart and spew out lava. Once every 5 minutes, a wave of lava will crash over the stage, heavily damaging those not in a protective room (which will appear about 45 seconds before the wave arrives).

Victory 1: He bursts in to flames and spins his sword around him.
Victory 2: He takes of his hood, revealing a scaly, red, human-like face.
Victory 3: He sheathes his sword and creates a wall of fire around him.
G-Spark
Though there is the part after the fighting tournament in the first game where he does something other than nod. He just falls asleep right in the middle of the arena after he wins.

Golden Sun wasn't a bad game. I never played the second, is it any worth it?

Super Smash Bros. on the N64 never really impressed me. In fact, the N64 never really did impress me.

Speaking of good RPGs, I just looked up Star Ocean 4, it looks pretty sweet other than the fact that it's going for the 360. I'm still pretty much on the fence in the console debate; the PS3 looks very attractive due to its Blu-ray drive, but I intend to buy one for my PC, so I really don't mind that. MS is slowly working its way through the issues with the 360. Up until now, I've only really played PC games, but they've been pretty mediocre this year.

Somedays I just feel I need to rekindle my gaming spirit... I get the urge, but I'm not particularly compelled by anything out there. It sucks, coz I used to do a fair bit of gaming, but now I can't seem to stick with a game for longer than a week. Maybe Fallout 3 will change that.
G-Spark
I haven't played it myself but some of my friends from marching band have. They said it's pretty good and I've seen it a little of it, but not much. They said it was pretty good so I guess.
Hamster
Character: Hamster

Final Smash: My pants glow with an awesome power. Other players' controllers melt in their hands, exploding and sending burning plastic spattering into their screaming faces.
G-Spark
Character: G-Spark

Side Special: Linked sword swipes (Like with Marth)

Up Special: Variant of Ether (Kinda a mix of Kirby's and Ike's I supppose): Jumps up, somersaults in the air and deals damage to any nearby players, then throws sword in the direction you're facing dealing damage and then it comes back. Blade is relatively light, though not like a Saber or anything, so deals only light/medium damage for all attacks besides final smash.

Standard Special: Shoots a beam from sword in the direction you're facing.

Down Special: Transform - Isword

Specials: Same, but with a heavier blade dealing more damage, but slower.

Smash attacks: Just a strong swipe in the direction you intended.

Final Smash: Explodes, body burnt to a crisp and no damage dealt to other players. Falls through platforms in level and hits end of screen. KO.

Character: G-Spork

Side Special: Coordinated color swatches (Like with Martha)

Up Special: Deviant of Leather (Kinda a mix of Robert Bishop's and a Frankie Goes to Hollywood music video I supppppppose): Jumps up, somersaults in the air and deals damage to any nearby subs, then throws whips in the direction you're facing dealing damage and then he comes. Ass is relatively tight, though not like a virgin or anything, so deals only light/medium damage for all attacks besides anal smash.

Standard Facial: Shoots a beam from crotch in the direction you're facing.

Down Special: Transform -
[100
010
001]

Facials: Same, but with a heavier thrust dealing more pleasure, but slower.

Splash attacks: Just a weak splash in the direction you intended. (until it evolves into Gyrados)

Anal Smash: Exposes buttocks, grabs sphincter from either side, and pulls. J/O.
