I find it too hard to hit anything smaller then a goon with a mass driver. I prefer my trusty shotgun or a lasgun for marauders. Once I get enough credits I'll switch to a pulse rifle or a flamethrower for base assaults. And finally, once I'm rolling in cash, I'll get a battle suit and a luci cannon. I'm a lot more careful with the luci then I used to be. There was this time when the alien team kicked me for "luci spamming" when all I was doing was firing at the aliens whenever I saw them. Asses.

Personally, I prefer my chaingun over my pulse rifle or luci, but thats just me and my bad aim.

GSN/Shlim, what I was trying to tell you yesterday is to enter these commands into the console:

/bind 2 itemact medkit
/bind @ itemact medkit
that will make your "2" key and your "@" key activate your medkit, which is much more convenient to press when running away than m. That little trick has saved me from a respawn on many occasions.

What I did is bind m and n as medkit, so I just have to stab in the general direction of the medkit with my left thumb (while running away, it's my left middle finger doing the work) and I get it.

That's really useful and I did do it. Thank you for suggesting it.

I used to play a bit. My name there is GrandCheez. I prefer to play the old BOOM BOOM when it's online. Otherwise I like playing TremX servers a lot now, provided they aren't voting for really dumb maps.

Sorry I wasn't around Wednesday, guys! Some things came up and I wasn't around.

A medpack?! Where is this thing! I didn't know there was such a thing as a medpack!
Shlimazel
Sorry to double post, but I thought I'd let you all know that I'll be over at the DretchStorm server until 4:00PM EST if you care for a game.
Eji1700
Ok so i might throw this on my computer sometime this weekend. Any suggestions befre i wade into a beating?
Shlimazel
As an alien, wait for the humans to come out of the base, then ambush the heck out of 'em. As a human...

...well...

...practice running backwards while shooting.

Of course I'm not that good so take my advice with a grain of salt.
gray_shirt_ninja
Try not to run straight at the humans when you're a dretch. Don't run around by yourself as a human. In fact, team work is the most important and least used part of the game. Don't be discouraged by the learning curve. You will die a lot.
Mispeled
I'll keep an eye out for people with ASW names. I might be able to play a bit next weekend.

So i played tonight and i died alot, but i like it. Tried humans at first and played a lot of servers with wacky rules but after doing some reading i found a decent normal server and settled on the aliens because im not twitchy enough to play humans.

Dretch seems like the hardest part of aliens since your such a glass cannon and aiming is so difficult.

Bass and Marauder seem to have uses but feel gimmicky.
Dragoon seems to be the thing everyone rushes, and i can see why.
Eji1700
So i'm still sucking with Alien but i've mostly been playing on the DretchStorm servers since they're one of the few with 100BP's, active players, and low ping.
gray_shirt_ninja
I play mostly on DretchStorm too. Hopefully we'll run into each other.
Eji1700
I've finally gotten the hang of playing the dretch to where im not just food. Still need to work on being efficient with the higher level aliens though.

I hate playing ATCS with more then 5v5. Especially with friendly fire on. It's impossible to not hit your allies. And they keep TK'ing me.
