I have used the Utility Grab, but I wanted to do the same with video. After seeing Snapz Pro I wanted to get it...but I didn't want to spend $70. dry.gif Under price it said $29/$69. If it is $29 I will buy it, but not if it is $69. Which one is it? huh.gif

For $29, you get SnapZ Pro, but without Quicktime Movie Capture, but for $69, you get it with QT Movie Capture.

You can also upgrade to the movie capture version at any time for the exact cost difference of $40.

$29 gets you (static) screen capture. $69 gets you screen capture plus movie capture.

Indeed. Though I think that Snapz has some options that Grab doesn't have (i.e. export to any one of a number of file formats, a bit more control in selecting the portion of the screen selected, &c.). Why don't you download the program, and try it out in demo mode? All of the questions that you are asking could be easily answered by doing so.
