Howdy, I feel stupid if this is me, but when I record a movie using Snapx the mouse pointer is invisable. I saw the optional "cursor visable" checkbox, but when I uncheck that I can't see my cursor while I'm recording a movie. If the box is checked I see my cursor, but it just isn't there in the recorded movie.

Am I missing something?

I'm running a MacPro (2x) 2.66 Dual Core with 8GB of RAM

Snapz setting is: 30 fps, smoothing is on, saving using the Animation Compressor (High Quality, Best Depth)

PS-I tried lowering my fps, but still nothing...

Thanks in advance for any help anyone might offer.

Hello Osglith,
Sorry for your frustration. Can you verify what version of Snapz you're using? The cursor should be visible during the recording process, regardless of the checkbox. Only the resulting movie should be affected. Please give this a try:

1. Invoke Snapz and press command-Q to quit Snapz. If you can not invoke Snapz, open the Activity Monitor found in your Utilities folder. Look for a process named "Snapz Pro X", select it, and then select "Quit Process".
2. Remove the Snapz preference file "com.ambrosiasw.snapz.plist", which is located in the Home/Library/Preferences folder
3. Download the latest version of Snapz from <http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/dl/snapzprox>
4. Install Snapz. It should install over the old version, and you should not need to enter your registration info again.

Let us know how things go after that.

Howdy, Well I did as you suggested, and it is still behaving the same. This time I used the default 10 fps and no "smoothing" the mouse is just nowhere to be seen. I see the links I click on (I'm trying to record our web page) but no pointer. I've tried a couple of different tests, but I'm having no luck.

...any other ideas?

Thanks,

Check your Universal Access settings. Open Universal Access in your System Preferences. Turn off the Zoom in the "Seeing" section and make sure that the cursor size is set to "normal" in the under the "Mouse" section. Either of these can make the cursor vanish when Snapz is invoked.
