Full Version: How can I capture a movie in Snapz Pro using AppleScript?

I see that Snapz Pro has 2 defined terms in Applescript: invoke and capture. Telling it to "capture" will take a screenshot, which is cool but I need to be able to start and stop the MOVIE capture, not just a screenshot. I thought I could use "invoke" to show the selection dialog, and then at least click the Movie button using some ui scripting or something, as I already know how to do this with other non-AppleScriptable applications. However, I can't seem to discover the name of the Movie button using my UI Browser utility, since Snapz Pro suspends all interactivity with other programs while this dialog is shown. How can I start and stop the movie capture using AppleScript? Is there a keyboard command to do this? Or what is the name of the Movie button or is there a menu item for it or what? I saw a posting from last year that said extended AppleScript functionality is coming in a future version. When??

Hello ladybug,
Sorry for your frustration. The scripting functionality is very limited in the current version of Snapz and will not improve in the 2.x version. We are hard at work on the next generation of Snapz which will hopefully allow more scripting. There is no ETA on the next version yet. If you would like to be notified of future releases, you can join our mailing list. Hope this helps smile.gif
