I just got one of the new Apple keyboards with function keys up to F19. I would like to invoke Snapz by pressing that one function key rather than the default combo. However, I can't tell how to do change the preference. I hit the function key and nothing shows up in the appropriate field. I tried typing "F19" but the field accepts just a single character. I tried these with the keyboard system preference "Use as normal function keys" both checked and unchecked. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, and I'll appreciate having my stupidity identified.

Sorry for your frustration. Snapz does not handle the function keys on the aluminum keyboards very well (as well as a bunch of other applications out there). We are aware of the issue and will resolve it in a future version. My apologies for the inconvenience.
