Full Version: What happened to "Wiretap Pro"? Saving sound files as "browsable"

Some time ago I got an email from Ambrosia that made it seem like Wiretap Pro would be going out of its offerings. However, about a month or so ago, I saw Wiretap Pro in a strange location here. Today, it is nowhere. Is Wiretap Pro available today or being upgraded at al? As a result of the email from Ambrosia, I felt sort of "forced" into buying Wiretap Studio so that, should I need it, I could continue to get technical support for "supportable" products.. I actually like Wiretap Studio much more than Wiretap Pro. However, the ONE feature of Wiretap Studio that I do not like is the use of a single "Library" for saving files, the content of which is only accessible through the actual launching of Wiretap Studio to see the files. I liked, in Wiretap Pro, that I could name my files individually as well as what "kind" of audio file it would be in the process. In some ways, not being able to just go to a file with the individual sound files in order to "browse" them is sort of a "loss" in Wiretap Studio. Can you give Wiretap Studio user's the chance to do either method of saving: to a folder ro drive as a single file or to a "Library"?

Thank you very much.

Hello Anyse,
WireTap Pro was replaced by WireTap Studio in October of 2007. While it is no longer sold or supported, you can download the latest and final version of WireTap Pro (1.3.4, Leopard compatible) from here.

The WireTap Studio Library is required to manage the recordings and edits, much like iPhoto or iTunes. You can export your files form the Library to be used or moved where you please. Hope this helps smile.gif
