Hi,

Is it possible to specify more than 1 sound input source during movie recording? I.e., built-in mic for the Instructor, external mics (either USB and/or the traditional audio jack) for students sitting at different areas of a large room?

Thanks!
Charles

Hello Charles,
Sorry, Snapz will use whatever you have selected as the default input device. You can not use multiple input devices.

Hello again,
I am thinking about another approach... please share your comment on whether it works well or not!

I use Snapz to capture the movie, with no sound. In the meantime I use WireTap to record multiple sound sources. Once everything is captured, I can simply use iMovie to make one nice, big movie, with sound in sync.

To make it even more valuable, I can then record only the video stream from a DV camera fed to the Mac via Firewire, and record sound from multiple sources (via USB, built-in mic, audio line-in). Again, I'll use iMovie to merge the tracks together.

Hopefully the video and audio will be in perfect sync! This will be perfect!

Any comments?

Hello Charles,
That would work. I can't say how in sync everything will at the end of the day but it's worth a test. Keep in mind that WireTap Studio will let you use 2 different devices at once, but no more. Let us know how it goes!
