I am running the trial version of WireTap Studio (1.0.6), and I am impressed with its ease of use, but there is one thing I am trying to figure out that I would like some help with.

I have purchased an album from iTunes and there is an annoying 1 -2 second period of silence at the end of everything file on the album. This is especially annoying as it is intended to be a gapless album.

I have found that I can open the files by importing them into Wiretap's library and using the delete silence command from the editing menu I can get rid of the offending 1-2 seconds. It is almost too easy!

All I have to do is export the files to iTunes, then copy over all the album/artist/track info and everything is great.

BUT, then I read that this may not be a permanent solution. I can't find the link anymore, but I read that if I move my library to a new computer, for example, I will loose all this work.

Is this true?

I am really hoping not, but if it is, is there a solution?

Thanks for the help.

Ok, I may have found a solution to my problem...

I imported all the files into Wiretap Studio, used the delete silence command and then exported them all into iTunes.

I then used the search feature in iTunes to bring up the files and used the time index on the Wiretap files to set customized stop times for all the original files. It works!!!

And better yet, I have left the original files in place without editing or changing them in any way -- you can always deselect the customized stop time on the options tab.

I then deleted the WireTap files from my library and all is well.

If anyone here knows of any reason that this may cause me problems, please let me know.

Thanks.

P.S. I will be purchasing this program. This is great and I have already come up with numerous other uses I can put this to.
