When I use WireTap Studio to record an MP3 playing in iTunes, and compare the resulting waveform to the original MP3's waveform, the top and bottom of the recording's waveform is clipped off, even at 32 bit/96 Hz. Is it possible to get a perfect copy?

Hello Kris,
Sorry for your frustration. What format are you comparing with? Where are you comparing the waveforms? The lossless original should be identical to the source. Try control-clicking the file in the WireTap Studio Library and saving the lossless original, and comparing them. Hope this helps

Hey Kris,
Another thing to check...make sure iTunes' volume is maxed out. WireTap Studio records the audio after iTunes, so it's possible you are recording it at a reduced level.
