Hi everyone, I'm working on a plug for EVN (I'm assuming you guessed that by the subject). Anyways, I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to help with making the plug.
I'm calling it a partial total conversion, because I'm going to re-write the story (all new missions, some new ships, and some government changes), but not change the universe entirely (the old ships will remain, and the systems will remain primarily the same).
Anyways, I need a few people who are willing to help me with the making of the plug. First of all, I can't do graphics, I don't know how and don't have the software (it would be like 15-20 ships max, and some new outfits...not sure how many of those), so maybe one or two people to do that. Also, a few people to run ideas by, and maybe help with the programming of the plug (I really only half understand how resedit works to be honest). I'm not looking for anyone to make an immense time commitment here, I'm starting college in the fall, and am not planning on devoting all of my free time to making this plug. OK, I'm Bored. Sorry to present my opinion in such a silly way, but you need to reconsider as far as I can advise you. Try making some smaller plugins until you are totally confident with the workings of NovaTools and Resedit.

Yeah, I'm with Mazca. Plug-in developing takes a ton more time than %99 of people realize when they start out. I'd just do a small plot-extension or galaxy-addition first to get a good feel for it.
Also, you could check my current topic about the Non-Technical EVN Bible. It's basically a guide on how to make better plug-ins, especially for beginners.
As for help, I'm already devoting enough time to The Silent Ruins of Earth. But if your project looks like it might go somewhere, we might have some extra graphics sometime down the line. If that was the case, I'd have no problem with letting you have them. But first, we need to actually have some extra graphics, and I need to see that your plug-in isn't going to end up just another dead project. So if you're really interested, e-mail me once you get the plug-in pretty far along.
On the other hand, don't let Mazca and I discourage you. We're just trying to help you be realistic.

Yeah, I understand that its gonna be a tough undertaking, and I know it'll be a lot of work, and I'm not planning on this being finished anytime soon. But I figure it could be worse...mostly the missions are what need to be re-written...and I'm already working on that...systems will only be changed as necessary and stuff like that...I intend to make some smaller plugs as I work on story and stuff for this one to get my programming skills down. Mostly right now, I'm looking for people I can bounce ideas off of until I get my plans for the plug set in stone so to speak. Then I'll need help with the graphics and programming.
I'm not promising that I'll be able to take this plug to completion, but if I don't try, it definitely won't happen, whereas if I do try, there's a chance.

Yeah, I feel that with enough help, and my figuring out of ResEdit (assuming that happens) this plug is very do able.
And I definitely plan to read the non-technical EVN Bible...what I read of it the other day seemed like very good guidelines for plug creating.
