I believe that quote is reserved for New England.

Actually, that saying belongs to Oklahoma, as said about the state by Will Rogers. I have yet to see any conclusive evidence anyone said it before him, but it is likely. But trust me, New England and California don't have the shifts on the magnitude and frequency that our state has.

Alternatively, it's regional language variation for no real reason (but hey, we have a whole 'nother thread about that).

The vast majority of our west coast is wet.

Silly Americans. Trust them to get it wrong.

That's Canadian in origin, actually recorded in a diary of one of the first explorers to map Western Canada. Not sure of the name.

And in Calgary, you only have to wait five minutes.

Put it this way - last year, we had a day where it went from -28 C all the way to +14 C. Yep, that's a 24 hour period. We also had snow in August, during which it was +12 C (normally, snow only forms at about 3C and below). Because of our distance from the mountains, we're in a specialized weather system that spawns "chinooks" that regularly change the temperature at a rate of about 4 C an hour for anywhere from two hours to a week.

I believe I have witnessed every type of weather known to man here, with the exception of manmade phenomenon such as smog. Yes, I have been inside a tornado (the eye was about 2 km across).

I know that, surprisingly enough, even if you don't seem to think I do.

Funny thing...I just heard Gaithersburg mentioned on the radio (the CBC, no less). I didn't quite catch what they were talking about, though -- some sort of music festival, perhaps.

I'm sure the saying is even older than that.

I recall days where it was 30C in the day, followed by snow at night.

As for weird weather, ever watch the whole sky light up in nothing but blue and pink due to lightning during a snow storm?

I remember seeing the phrase written by some Native Americans that live in this area. It was dated to around 50 BC.

Bull****? Duh. I just felt like playing along with Gage's "I can outdo you with made-up bull**** that there is absolutely no proof of and as a result where I'm from is better than you" game. Its fun!

Besides, in Murfreesboro, you only have to wait 2 minutes.

Maine is a myth. It's run by a puppet government controlled by Massachusetts. You all didn't think that we just let it be its own separate state, did you? It was all a ploy to gain more senate seats.

Fair enough. In defense of mikee, the relevant point at the time was your nationality, not your specific identification.
