A quiet little town in New Jersey about ten to fifteen minutes from center city Philadelphia depending on how fast you drive called Haddon Heights. My house is about 200 feet from Kings Highway, if anyone knows where that is. Not much to offer here except two (or three, haven't decided on the third yet) really nice restaurants that I like to frequent whenever possible.

Good luck

Michigan, U.S.A. (south of Detroit to be more specific). I probably live closer to Canada than anyone--excluding the Canadians. (Yes, there is a Tim Hortons near me. I've also got the CBC on cable.)

My from line is pretty accurate. Si Quaeris Peninsulam Amoenam Circumspice is the official motto of Michigan. It means something like: "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look around you".

Can you narrow it down to a couple of thousand square miles? Some of us know where places are in beautiful Saskatchewan. (Sometime in the next two months I get to go to LaRonge and Estevan, if you can imagine...)

That's possibly because you're American. Large parts of your country's west coast are quite dry, whereas essentially all of Canada's west coast (at least the more populated parts) is wet, wet, wet. Also, you live in Illinois...so not near the coast-that-is-known-as-wet.

Southern California is wet? Could've fooled me... My point being that, while most of your west coast is as wet as ours (I'm thinking Washington down to the middle of California or so, correct me if I'm wrong), it's not quite as uniformly wet as up here. Alternatively, it's regional language variation for no real reason (but hey, we have a whole 'nother thread about that).

Whoa... You wouldn't recognize any of it now. I've lived here seven years now, and over the course of that time, it has changed beyond recognition.

New shopping centers, new businesses (even a Northrop Grumman office...), and new schools... But there is still nothing to do, and the school system is terrible. Today, for example, the superintendent decided to give us a two hour delay instead of cancelling school, despite sleet, freezing rain, and the fact that every other county and chollege around us had cancelled school. Because of this, 5 buses have gone into ditches (one of which was flipped) and two people (from a rival school) have died. Quite unfortunate really... She will be out of a job (The only real reason they didn't cancel was because we have had 9 snow days, and after 10 have passed, we do not need to make up for any days over the summer...), and the school system is going to get massively sued for incompitence. Of course, they'll get off the hook, because the students that died had driven to school, so the school isn't liable for their safety. Absolute bull****. Our underbudget, crappy, so-called "education" is more important than our lives...

Sorry, just had to rant, I'm sitting in seventh period as we speak...

There. I hope that clears up some confusion. Timbits. Tiny, snackable, delicious donut hole snacks. And that's all.

In the past, I've lived in in Edmonton, AB, and Lacombe, AB.

From another Southern Californier, the little bubble we call Orange County is pretty much always hot. Never is any snow that I've found 'cept for the Saddleback mountians, but it sure does rain when there is a storm.

If you didn't find out already, I'm in Orange County, California. Bonus: you can also find my city if you find which city ranked best place to live in the west in Money magazine for the catagory under 100,000 population. tongue.gif
