Jive 320
Has anybody ever played this game? It's not a computer game, btw. It's a RPGish/actionish/hobby type game . Hard to explain unless you've played it. So has anyone?

btw, if you have I have just started and am building a Tyranid swarm as we speak >:-D

No, actually I never really got to play any Games Workshop games. I wanted to play Warhammer with High Elves or Wood Elves, but they were already taken among the group of friends that play it, so I was forced to take Bretonnia, which I found out I did not really like that much. Furthermore, I'm awfully bad at drawing and painting. Too bad, though. Necromunda was introduced to me, too, but I never went on with that, too.

Heh, one of my friends had bought a 2000(!) point High Elf army, but ended up with not painting it.. I guess he has them still standing around somewhere. I only have a handfull of Bretonnian knights. Thankfully I did not buy any more..

I'd say there's one in every crowd, but in this crowd there's at least twenty or so...

Cool

Have you ever played Warhammer 40,000 though? It' a lot better in my opinion. It's basicly in the future and you can get machine guns, mechs etc. I recomend you find somone to play it or influence your friends to

Yup, bought the toy painted it, but never actually played with many people. Y'see, I bought the OLD, complicated-as-hell, big-ass book, about a month before they simplified it. That put me off it.

Other GW games I have played: Space Marine (old + new), Blood Bowl, Space Hulk (the Amstrad computer game version!). I was actually quite good at blood bowl!

You don't read White Dwarf, do you? I'm interested in what's in it these days.

Always wanted to play, a friend introduced me to it. I always wanted to put together an Eldar army, the Jet Bikes rock so much.

My friend said he'd teach me once... and the best way was to just play a game with him. Not that that's not a good idea, but I think he was more intent on winning than showing me how to play.

"Oh... ok... you just rolled double sixes compared to my 2 and a 1. That means.... ummm... well, since I have 3 total and you have 12, I deal you 12*3=36 damage and you deal me....ummm... 12/3=4 damage. Yeah... that's right. I get to deal your guys 36 damage and you get 4."

"Dude... I thought higher dice rolls were better!"

"Oh... they were. But, that's only earlier in the game. You'll see when you play more"

"ohhh... I get it."

hehe

That sounds like my friends who at first wanted to help me out and get me started, but I think now are trying to take advantage of me. What sucks is they are the onmes teaching me the game and I really don't want to buy a $30 rule book. So I'm stuck trying to decode the Codex. But I'm actually getting the idea and hang of it pretty quickly and I may be able to outsmart my friends yet

So far I have a Tyranid army of 1 Hive Tyrant(Venom Cannon, Scything Talons, Implant Attack, Bio-plasma Attack, and Warp Field and Blast psychic powers) and 12 Genestealers.

I have a bunch of friends who play this game, and they got me into it. I don't know the rules or anything, but I borrow get the rulebook and learn them all within the next few weeks. So far I have no models or anything, but I recently ordered the Chaos Space Marine BattleForce and it should be arriving in a few days.

Ya know, reading this topic got me ta thinkin....man, Warhammer was a fun game....So I pulled my old 2500 point Renegade Space Marine army, and (with some minor tweaking, as some of my wargear had been "outlawed" [so to speak] since the new version came out) played a few games with some of the guys down at the local GW shop...and boy was it fun! I need to do that more often

I've gone off Games Workshop. I still want to play more blood bowl and Necromunda though. Good game that.
