)To run NetHack on OS X, get it from http://homepage.mac.com/abwilliams/FileSharing.html
After it decompresses, put "Nethack" in /usr/local/bin (you'll need to sudo).
Put the contents of the "lib" directory into /usr/games/lib (again, sudo is needed).
And you're ready to go!
(For NetHack compiled for other systems, check www.nethack.org)
For those who don't know, NetHack is a classic dungeon-digging geek game along the lines of Rogue, Moria, et al. It is entirely text-based (you are a little "@" moving around, "%" is a piece of food, etc.) and is, I think, the ultimate example that a game doesn't need state-of-the-art graphics to be fun. NetHack is still being improved, although it is fully functional in its present state. They just keep adding cool stuff, making it (as far as I know) the longest continuously-developed computer game in existence. It was also a major inspiration for the game Diablo.
