I'm stuck on Amaterria(sp?). I have finished two of the puzzles, but I'm having trouble with the balancing one. The journal seems like it should help, but it doesn't. (I don't want an all out spoiler, just hints.)

In case you didn't notice, you can get out of Amateria without completeing all of the puzzles. I can't remember where the book is located, though.
As for the puzzle, you need to look around the area that is near the bottom of the elevator that goes into the room with the 3 viewers and the locker in the center (the bottom of the main tusk).

The journal does have the correct settings. Just look through the whole thing and set the switches *exactly* as shown in the journal.

There is a small path which allows you to zoom in on that red ball which balances the thing. You'll find its not solid
