You call the dreamcast a next gen console?
bleh...an unpopular choice (especially with that Wandering_Wanker bloke or whatever his name is on #ev3

), but I'm getting an Xbox.

Considering that two of the counsels on the list haven't even been released yet, I don't know if anyone can really say....but being the Nintendo loyalist that I am, I'll say gamecube. *shrugs*

Dreamcast all the way, baby. With Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II, and Soulcaliber, and other games of similar ilk, it will always be THE platform of choice, even a billion years down the road.

The Dreamcast is the ultimate system. It's sad how much dust has collected on my PS2 while my Dreamcast runs all night shifts. The graphics potential of the system may not be PS2 or X-Box, but they are polished, and the games are fantastic. Soul Calibur is a three and a half year old title, and it's still the best fighting game I had ever played.
Plus we can't forget Skies of Arcadia, Jet Grind Radio, and some of the other classics. Dreamcasts are cheap, so now is the time to buy. Even when the console wars are in full swing, I will always take some time to play my Dreamast. I love you Dreamcast.
Although PS2 will win the console wars hands down.

Neither Microsoft or Sony have cutesy mascots. How pathetic is that? Honestly.

Hooray! GCN now has 10 votes!! It's obviously the next-gen console of choice.

Uh, that word? You spelled it wrong. Yeah, that one right there, next to the period. And you're missing an apostrophe in the word "its".

I think most of these votes for the GCN come from Nintendo loyalty. and I was just over at PS2.ign.com and it says that the PS2 has sold almost 18 million units at the end of august, the Xbox and GCN will have a bit of catching up to do.

I can see that I'll probably be flamed for this... But my vote goes with the Xbox.
It just looks like it'll be so cool, be so easy to develop for (in comparison with the others) and will have a lot of amazing games for it (Oni, Halo, bunches of others).

No offense but Oni wasn't all that great. I mean it was a good game but its no reason to get a console. I don't see how people could buy a console without a good game base. The only major titles coming out for the Xbox this year are DOA3, THPS2X, HALO, SSX:tricky, the yearly dose of sports titles, and a few others. By no means comparable to the PS2's sweeping holiday list or Nintendo's fan base. Now I may eat my words eventually but this is currently my opinion and I don't think it will change very soon.
