A franchise is a series of something, therefore one game cannot be a franchise. Marathon's an alright series, it seems a bit....boring to me though.

A tie between EVO: FrozenHeart and Halflife: Counterstrike. EVO isnt too good in itself, its the number of good addons that make it a good game, and Counterstrike is the most realistic close-combat game when it comes to weaponry and shooting.

Of course! How could I not see that. The Marathon Trilogy is the greatest game franchise ever.

It would be Final Fantasy, but as I think about it, most of the Final Fantasy games thoroughly suck.

Another vote for Marathon. Naturally.

Oh, and the Myth franchise. How can anyone not have said this already. These games kicked! On a side note here, who is looking forward to Myth III?

I second the vote for Myth. Soulblighter was the best $30 I've ever spent. Also, the Exile series by Spiderweb. A classic RPG, if I may say so myself.

(Edit: I'm looking foward to Myth III... ::drools:: Woot! 100 posts!

Bleh, WarIIx was great, but number one really bit. They didn't have it all figured out yet then.

Unless you count Starcraft as being part of the Warcraft Franchise. I'm thinking of it as different, but either way, Starcraft and EV are my favorites.

Well, apart from the obvious Monkey Island series and Escape Velocity series, one of my favourite franchises has to be Dizzy

It's not pining, it's passed on! This parrot is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet it's maker! This is a late parrot! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It has rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This...is an ex-parrot!

Just kidding. I choose, umm, Zelda, but only because I have an N64, and not a PSX. If I had PSX I'd say FF, most likely.
