Yes it should work on all B.net systems, Starcraft or otherwise (although Starcraft is no longer the most popular B.net game; from what I've seen more people play D2x).

I use B.net but when Me and a few people from the boards are on we use channel ASW. And we play Starcraft, or Brood Wars depending on who's playing. I didn't even know there was a buddy function.

I check out channel Ambrosia or ASW but usually no ones there. I usually go by almondblight when Bnets not screwing with me and I'm not on that much, which explains my crappiness. But when I do go on I'll look for you all so you can beat me.

what buddy function are you people talking about? theres nothing like that in starcraft... and im on right now, so i would have downloaded a new patch.

It's a battle.net function, not a Starcraft function, so there is no patch. Type /help friends on b.net.
