TheDarkDragon
Hi everybody

I've been playing the N64 version of Tony Hawk 2 (It's EXACTLY the same as Playstation, so don't comment on that) and I've managed to 100% all the levels, exept one. I can't find how to get into the secret area for the money in Marseille. I would REALLY appreciate any help you can give me on the matter.

in the PS version you have to go to the back of the area and onto the raised area were all the trees are. Once you get up there, find the telephone poll and there is a peice of wood leaning up against it, grind that and in a second or two a section of the fence should fall down revealing the secret area. All you have to do is fall down the hole and collect all the cash.

Thanks, but a bit too late I'm afraid.

Found it this morning and since then I've 100% the game with a half dozen characters.

hehe...tony's is a cool game, but Grind Session and Thrasher are the best skate games. The Music is top quality on Thrasher ("ten brothers in a circle, had the kid trapped, the one in the hood said 'we'll hurt you"), and Grind Sesh has a some wicked KRS One and X-ecutioners tracks.

Unless you skate you can't really appreciate these two, jump on a board and you'll realise how dull and unrealistic tony's is. With grind session and thrasher, you have to think about your tricks carefully, with tony's all you have to do is mash the control pad at the right time.

I've been skating for the past 5 years and the reson I like THPS is exactly that unrealistic aspect of the game.

Then why do you think it's better?! I much prefer landing the floaty and smooth moves in GS and Thrasher then mashing the control pad and landing 540, nollie inverted heelflips off a tiny kicker. Sure it's a fun game, but for skating games I reckon GS or Thrasher have it.

If you don't like Tony's element of unrealisticness just turn on sim mode.

The problem there is that to get the big points to have to be able to do insanely big ollies and crazy twelve trick combos, in sim mode you can't.

Desert-Rat, you seem to have gone a little post happy. You have the last post in a number of consecutive topics. You are more than welcome to do this, however your replies tend to be limited to one sentence, and in some cases it's not very useful. And in this topic, you quote a post and respond simply by saying "agree," in violation of the web board guidelines. If you're going to post this much, I'd prefer it if you could contribute a little more to the topics you reply to. Thanks.

Heh, not a problem. But generally posting just to accomplish something like that is not admired. Post when you have something you want to say, not for the sake of posting.

(just to get back on topic)
I believe (and I'm sure many fellow skaters and BMXers will agree) that games like Tonk Hawk Pro Skater and Matt Hoffmans; BmX (or Dave Mirra's BMX..whatever) appeal to many people who actually skate or ride because they are un realistic, they enable you to pull off incredible trick you could never think of doing in real life (like I once did a fakie into a 720 melon landing in a nose manualt, going up a quarter pipe while still maualing, then doing a gymnast plant....), and lets them actually pull them off. I mean, for me playing Dave mirra actually inpired me to go out to the dirt track and try a double back flip...and after some pain...and a few weeks recovery...I got it down. But, if yoou prefer Skate Sesh or Thrasher, go right ahead and play em, they're great games too.

Yeah right can you double backflip....if you're going to lie at least make them believable.

<edit> Fixed that smiley ... all the moderating I get to do around here. ::glares at StarStrafer:: </edit>
