Anyone else here played the Diablo 1 Pre-release demo?
It's really rather funny:
There are only 3 characters you can talk to; The blacksmith (not Griswold, just the Blacksmith), the Witch (likewise) and the Tavern Owner (ditto.)
Also, it must have been released before they got the voice actors in: Griswold doesn't even attempt to sound scottish!

And the Witch sounds drunk...

There are numrerous other differences, some of them quite amusing...

When I got the demo, everyone had their proper names...with the suffix of their occupation. Griswold was called Griswold the Blacksmith and sounded scottish...Of course, when you get to Tristram on D2, Griswold has a nasty gash on his head and just says "Braaiins....." in the slow, dopey undead voice.

This was the pre-releace demo. Call me sad but I found it rather amusing.

Mind you, since playing Diablo 2 I keep wanting to beat Wirt to death with his own leg...
